It was more of a story-telling session than a combat heavy session so it was not super challenging for him to be without his blade. After being jacked up and losing a hand, his left hip and part of his left leg due to an explosion, he became mortally wounded and was in bacta for 1 day game time while the other PC did some investigation work. Afterwards he came out of bacta noting he now had a cybernetic left hip, cybernetic left hand and cybernetic left leg from the knee down - still recovering, getting used to temporary limbs as the permanent replacement limbs are still being constructed.
He then spent 2 days in hyperspace and 1 day on a new planet doing investigative work. He did have a chance to use the Force to heal his mortally wounded girlfriend which was cool - very Jedi like using the Force for defense instead of offense. Made me proud. He just might very well become a Jedi after all. Strangle enough though he was in armor. He selected a vibro sword as his primary weapon of choice and carried his blaster rifle but did not have to use either.

WHen did the cybernetics get attached?? while he was in the bacta (1d days for MW)? Where and when did they get them? _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

No, okay so what happened is that his jacked up body was taken to a PC Doctor who specializes in cybernetics/black ops and has worked on secret projects for criminal organizations and the Empire, whoever pays the most. Bottom line the Doctor medicated him and created temporary cybernetic limbs for him while he is working on better permanent limbs.
After attaching the initiatial components to the joints the character was placed in bacta overnight. He was still weak and suffered scar tissue when he awoke. Shortly after he awoke the doctor fused his temporary limbs and had him rest on a cot under heavy sedation from medical drugs. He spent more time in bacta as needed.

garhkal has cybernetics laying around, but they're covered in genetically engineered tetanus which instantaneously kills any PC who uses it regardless of how well "sanitized" they try to make it! _________________ RR

In light of Gorm the Dissolver, that seems like enough to build something temporary. _________________ Or that excessively long "Noooooooooo" was the Whining Side of the Force leaving him. - Dustflier

Nope. It was rare they could get their hands on some and keep them. Since i liked running rebel focused games, if they DID get some usually they got snagged by rebel high command (though they got compensated for it), same with other big cost goodies.. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

Fixing up other troops in the field mostly. That was more cause the pcs were not full on rebel troops themselves, but affiliated. Part of the deal they gave was regular supplies they got, they can keep or sell at a mark up to the rebellion. Certain other supplies can at choice of HC be appropriated for other use, such as munitions, ship parts and cybernetics...
They were the ones who actually made said distinction on the contract, so i held them to it. So when it happened (right after a larger battle by the rebels elsewhere in the system), they were all up in arms, until i pointed out thats what they negotiated.
And what got me, is 3 yrs later in game time (7 months real), when it came time to renegotiate the contract, they DIDN'T change that, and heck even added in that their ship can be requisitioned by high command when needed by other missions...
Then whined when it DID get taken! _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

I hear ya, good points. Basically one of my best friends has the PC that is the doctor that provides cybernetic enhancements. We have been gaming Star Wars RPG for like 19 years now and he is the other active GM. He and I both have an active RPG. Actually he runs one, I run 2. He wanted to run in the campaign as one who provides cybernetic implants to the highest bidder. I figured that was a great idea with several subplots I can manage. It's all working out good... |

Does he make them or buy them? If the latter, have you had imperials come a knocking?? Had him make the bargain/streetwise rolls to get them?
If the former, has he got the (A) skill medicine with the cybernetic subset? _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

The Doctor has a ship full of the cybernetic parts and makes them aboard his ship. The Imperials have not yet come knocking as he is on neutral terms with them. He is constantly using different names to avoid being found. He does have medicine skill and cybernetic subset. |

Here are the rules I use [cobbled together from several sources]
They make a big deal about Lightsabre Harmonization cuz that seemed to me to the practical reason that Jedi used Sabres more then Blasters. For me Harmonization is where all the lengthy build times comes into it. If you don't want that bonus then its MUCH faster.
LIGHTSABRE CONSTRUCTION
Most Jedi construct sabers when they have at least 4D in all force powers
Crystal
Synthetic Crystal (green or red) = -1 to skill, Damage 5D+1
Base cost per crystal 300 Availability 3
Diff to Grow 20
Illum Crystal (blue or green) = Damage 5D
Base cost per crystal 333 3X
Ruusian Crystal (Blue or Green) +1 to skill. 5D Damage
Base cost per crystal 333 4X
Adegan Crystals (any color) +2 to skill. 4D+2 damage
Base cost per crystal 333 4X
Rare Russian Crystal (purple) +1 to skill and damage of 5D+1
Base cost per crystal 666 4X
Harmonization Gives a +1D for all Force rolls involving that Sabre.
Con, Sense, and Alter Diffs of 25.
+5 to diff if crystal is already installed
+1 to skill checks for every additional 3 days spent meditating.
+10 to diff of double bladed saber!
Failure on any of these 3 rolls requires starting over.
Construction: Usually occurs after harmonization
Diff is 20 (+5 to skill if they spend 24 hours preparing) Time: 2 days. Cost 100 credits
Extras Diff Cost
Pressure trigger standard
Lock on 10 25
Internal Switch 15 30
Reduce Blade Option 15 2 Crystals!
Extend Blade Option 20 3 Crystals!
Double Bladed 10 450
Cell recognizer 20 750
Remote activated transponder 15 100
Rainbow 20 50
NOTE: Failure on any of these rolls results in sabre detonation. 5D damage explosion! _________________ - J.T. Swift
