Telekinesis would seem like the most straightforward power.

Make an opposed roll: Alter vs. Dex (to avoid being knocked off your feet)

I agree, there's absolutely no need to introduce a Force Push power. Telekinesis handles it just fine.

Thanks, I was thinking something like that.

Well, you have the right to pick a force power for each pip you increase a skill. We have way too few powers in my opinion. I'm using force push/pull.

Opposed roll Alter/Dex is fine. The power requires telekinesis.

Yes, sure - I was speaking technically. Depending on the era in which you play it's difficult to learn even the most basic powers.

Another Telekinesis spin off - force choke. There seems to be a difference between the power, Luke and his dad used against Jabba's Gamorrean thugs or General Motti and the power Vader used to kill Kendal Ozzel and Lorth Needa. The first seems to be telekinesis used to close the air pipes of the victim, the second seemed (according to the cracking sound) to do something more and it took just long enough for the victim to suffer before dying. Of course it's always a thin line, but my take is, that you can handle most stuff just with telekinesis, but there is always a specialization. A force push/pull, that has more strength and velocity (think more of a wave of force, like a strong wind as in the Jedi Knight computer game or the force shoving occuring in the prequels), a force choke, that does more damage probably more stuff if you think about it long enough.

I also have a way to handle the situation, when a player decides: "Hey I want to do this and that, but I don't have any powers to do that." You spend a force point and I give you a difficulty for the responsible force skill.

Wouldn't what Luke did to the guards be considered as control breathing?

I was always under the impression that he did use force choke on the Gamorreans, and that was the cause of at least one of the DSP's he had acquired by the Battle of Endor (Movie Trilogy Sourcebook stats him as having 2 by that time).

True. I've also considered Luke's choking of the Gamorreans to be definite DS material.

If I remember correctly, TK kill doesn't nessessarily result in choking. The user could just as easily squeeze the heart or stir the brain of the target, depending on personal preference. The end result is usually the same.

And his using of the choke, places him squarely in the shoes of his dad..

Beings don't generally clutch their throats when afraid, unless faced with a vampire. Luke doesn't strike me as the blood-sucking type, so I'm pretty sure he Force Choked them. 8)

In this case, there were 2 gamorians. By using this "choke" power twice, Luke should have received 2 DSP, should he ? I mean "choke" power is similar in effect than telekinetic kill (1 DPS per use).
