The main thing about armour is that, unless you're getting some kind of skinsuit, it's going to be obvious. Clothing you don't throw away.
It's going to garner a reputation along side you if you use it all the time. For good, and ill.
Boba Fett, for example, often had to deal with people SURRENDERING to him randomly in the street because they thought he had been hired to catch them, instead of his target. |

Ya, but Boba isn't just in it for the money, yaknow.
We had a bounty on our heads once. We replied by putting a bigger bounty on the heads of anyone that *TRIED* to collect on our bounty, and put a bounty on the head of the person that tried to do us in the first place.
Then we went, bought out his company.
Hostile Take-Overs are so much fun to do in Power Armour and Fully-Automatic Blasters. And all we had to do was get a certified cheque from the First Bank of Sluis Van. |

OK, more story time. Far Orbit (AKA: GODS OF THE UNIVERSE!) campaign. We were infamous, insanely rich, and other such goodness!
While we've had a lot of luck with power armour, we've also had a lot of *BAD* luck as well.
One of the PCs had just gotten a new set of NovaTech Power Armour, and put it on during a pirate battle on a primative world. (Think Alien version of Pirates of the Carribean).
Well, he got it on, and looked over the edge of the ship we were on when a pirate saw him, and raised his Slugthrower. Primitive, Cap & Ball Slugthrower. "Screw it, I'll take the shot, and then blow their ships out of the water with the missile launcher." the PC said.
Arrogance and all that.
The round hit the neck (We have random location rolls for where things hit) and the GM proceeded to roll max damage, while the PC rolled all ones.
*ALL* ones.
After a few more adventures (Including going the exact opposite direction and the PC got revenge in just a Speedo), we went to complain to NovaTech. We went on a Sunday of a Long Weekend (Just happened that way), and the low-level exec we got was a fan. After giving an autograph, we pointed out just how bad it would be for us to start a "Word of Mouth" campaign about the limitations of the armour.
We got a few free sets, money, and shares, along with some provision on increased neck protection. |

Fancy healing tech, Uber-NPCs (Retired PCs, actually), with high First Aid skills, and a friendly Jedi.
He was only Incapacitated, as well. But, still, any primitive slugthrower getting through Power Armour... |

Oh, we earned it. Time and again. Over years of Real Life and Game Time.
Part of the Far Orbit Fleet, "Gods of the Universe"!
Trust me, when you start turning things like Interdictor Cruisers over to the Rebel Alliance, even 10% of the cost of the hull adds up REAL fast!
But we faced armies, fleets, the works, all alone with minimal, if any support.
Heck, we took a PLANET from the Empire all by our lonesome, and got a small portion of the Gross Planetary Product for doing that. (The Planet, in turn, took that same amount away from Taxes paid to the New Replublic.). |

It was, it was.
But, you can only risk your life so long. The New Republic and the Imperial Remnant was finally getting to peace, and wars that paid us enough were getting hard to find.
Even the Janitor of the ship was a millionaire.
It was time to retire. We gave one last, big bash that ruined the top ten floors of a Sluis Van Hotel (We paid for those floors in advance), and had one richeous throwdown that included all the NPCs that were still alive at the time, and even threw invitations to the rest. The Solos made an appearance (Yes, we were THAT famous!), and there are rumours that Han and Chewie were seen in a few places as well after they "Officially" left.
(Honestly, it couldn't be them. Heroes of the Rebellion and VIPs of the New Republic can't be seen drinking and brawling and other such acts with a bunch of pirate reprobates, eh? They only looked like Han and Chewie!)
Luke Skywalker sent his regrets at not being able to come. We'd done a very few things with him, but he was busy as usual.
My chracter, Crunch, bought a small moon, put a bunny farm on it, and lived off his investments.
The Vong, however, changed everything. While it wasn't a campaign (We've all moved away from each other), but we know that at any time, the Far Orbit Fleet can once again be a force for good, freedom, and, most importantly, insane profit at any time. |

Wrote a very quick short item about it to show what happened to Crunch for the rest of his life, until he died in a barfight from stressing out his abused body.
Basically, got together again, went, "Something must be done!", stole a Peace Brigade capital ship, and went to demonstrate *WHY* you don't mess with the Far Orbit.
Numerous battles under their belts, with less troops and ships, and never defeated, never lost, and only forced to retreat once. |
