Good thing is, this is nowhere near as long as the Speeder file, but shows just how bored I can get at times... Here are some new Starfighters I wrote up. The Q-Wing came out during the middle of the Clone Wars, the Z-105 and the A-Wing Mk. II came out a little after the Thrawn Trilogy...

Q-Wing:
Koensayr's entry into System Defence just before the Clone Wars started, the Q-Wing is a Heavy In-System Fighter, with the option for a Hyperspace Sled. They utilize quite a number of the same parts from the Y-Wing, thus making maintaining them quite easy, however, the initial cost of the craft made it quite prohibitive for it's target group, system defence and custom patrols. Despite that, it is still found in various places out and about the galaxy, and, due to it's easy to find/build parts, will for quite some time. It appears as a large disk with a boom that contains a superior sensor suite and a single Proton Torpedo Launcher. The forward part of the Disk contains four Laser Cannons in series, two on each side of the boom, with a standard Y-Wing Cockpit on top of the boom, and the engines upon the back. The Port side contains the shield system, including a new (For the time) style of Particle Shielding that adjusts the aerodynamics of the craft, preventing the usual degrading of manoeuverability of a spaceship in an atmosphere. The Starboard side contains the primary power unit and fuel storage. A Astromech Slot in the centre of the fighter is used for repairs, and for calculations when attached to a Hyperdrive Sled, it can attach itself either from the bottom of the fighter or by the top. The Cockpit, being identical, allows for Y-Wing pilots to operate the Q-Wing, but, as the flight characteristics are different, at a reduced level.

New Subpro Z-105:
"The New Headhunter, for a New Era" is the unofficial slogan of this Fighter, and it's all too accurate. The ship is designed for markets trying to update their old Fighters from the Ancient Z-95 Headhunters and now Aging T-65 X-Wings. An offshoot of Incom, New Subpro is basically a Marketing Department and two old Manufacturing plants that Incom "Sold" at a loss for tax purposes. The craft is basically a simplified version of the X-Wing, with only two wings (And thus two laser cannons), no S-Foils, no Torpedo Launchers, and no Hyperdrive, but with various direct-from-factory and after-market modifications.

The ship flies almost identically to that of the T-65 X-Wing, and all of the maintenance is the same (Except for a shorter list of things to do.). While it is an older design, and is not up to the abilities of fighting against SOTA Military craft, this is not it's purpose... It's marketed towards In-System Patrols and Convoy Duty. While purchasing a new Z-105 is more expensive than an old T-65, there are also less problems with them, making them cost effective in the long run. In addition, due to it's design, retraining of people already used to X-Wings are not needed. (Note: "Starfighter Repair: X-Wing" can be used to make repairs/modifications at no penalty.).

A-Wing Mk. II:
After the X-Wing upgrades came out, outperforming the now aging A-Wing, the New Republic decided to perform similar upgrades to the design to their interceptor, and the finished model came out barely a year after the new X-Wing. Increased speed, durability, and the inclusion of a concussion missile launcher are the majority of the inprobvements.

In addition, the Laser Cannons were designed to swivel around 180 degrees, and allows the pilot to fire BEHIND him, making the A-Wing even better at the Hit-And-Fade, something it was the ship of choice for already! The ship, however, requires more maintence than ever, and, while popular with hotshot pilots, are the bane of tech crews everywhere.

Done... Now... To find an avatar.

Didn't figure I'd be posting this much again. Been awhile since I did this.

And, if you folks are willing to see 'em, I got a few Light Freighters I wrote up as well. And a few melee weapons and a Blaster or two...

Then the well is dry. Laughing

Ray.

Cool stuff, I've been running a game in the New Republic era. This should be useful.

I'm thinking of designing, next, Koensayr's re-entry to Starfighter Manufacturing (They're known for spare parts, mostly, and brag that almost every ship in known space reads "Koensayr" somewhere in or on it).

The O-Wing Fighter (Called the "Flying Pancake" by pilots), a Heavy Fighter that can mount a detachable Launcher System to allow it to be used as a Bomber on certain missions. It would come out a year or two before the "New Jedi Order" series, and be a contender to replace the maintence intensive B-Wing Starfighters (Which, compared to the older Y-Wing *SUCK*!!!).

Any thoughts? Or would I just be wasting my time???
