Here's a hint, the song "Destiny" from the soundtrack of X fits any scene from combat, easy victory to sad remorse scenes. Also when anybody betrays the group in some way, aways play "The Beast II" from the soundtrack of Evangelion. We all know what to play during a big jedi duel right? _________________ 'God gave you grace to purge this place

There are a few songs from Cowboy Bebop that make for good chase music
And when it comes to heroic themes, squaresoft games have some of the best possibilities.
Starwars has a lot of cool battle themes, but I try to mix it up from time to time... because on the soundtracks, they can go from some kickass fight music to the imperial death march, and you're not always fighting the empire
My wroonian x-wing pilot was going to be the type who would a laserdisc player in his x-wing and would throw in a rock disk when he flew into battle but I don't really play much in that game anymore... so... _________________ "For over a thousand generations, the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic. Juno Reactor and Front Line Assembly have some neat songs that could be cool for combat scenes. _________________ "My schooling not only failed to teach me what it professed to be teaching, but prevented me from being educated to an extent which infuriates me when I think of all I might have learned at home by myself." - George Bernard Shaw |

the song i have found to bes t the best for a gun fight is " why cant we be friends" it lightens the mood somewhat and sometimes throws the gm off just enough for you to live _________________ set force pikes to the other setting |

Heh, I don’t think that would go over well in our game.
Well most of the stuff from both of those bands would be adequate for just about any scene…the slower stuff would be good for setting the mood, and some of the faster stuff is great for fight scenes. Over all they should suit Crell. _________________ "My schooling not only failed to teach me what it professed to be teaching, but prevented me from being educated to an extent which infuriates me when I think of all I might have learned at home by myself." - George Bernard Shaw |

I find that the music really helps game sessions. I mean, tell me that the music isn't what makes the movies. I haven't had a whole lot of chances to really use the kind of music I want to but the few times I did use it my group reacted positively to it. _________________ wookies+lightsabers=bad day

Music can really set the mood. One of my DM tried it and we all loved it 8) _________________ Tuco: "But if you miss you had better miss very well. Whoever double-crosses me and leaves me alive, he understands nothing about Tuco."

DM, no you mean GM don't you.
I love to use music, but some of my players are control freaks with music and the switching to tracks is very distracting to the flow of the game. Lately, I haven't used music and it's worked out fine. _________________ "I don't know about angels, but it's fear that gives men wings." -Max Payne

Yeah, but there is something to best said about have the players see an Imperial Star Destroyer with the Imperial March in the background. 8) _________________ "My schooling not only failed to teach me what it professed to be teaching, but prevented me from being educated to an extent which infuriates me when I think of all I might have learned at home by myself." - George Bernard Shaw |

No, I mean DM since we were playing Dungeon, but it still kicked butt to have music setting the mood 8) _________________ Tuco: "But if you miss you had better miss very well. Whoever double-crosses me and leaves me alive, he understands nothing about Tuco."

I keep 2 different files ready on my lap-top:
1) A file containing some 50 or so sound effects (a few blasters, light saber on, off, humming, a few crashing sabers, some explosions, a few grunts, cries, and a bunch of death screams, etc...)
2) A compilation of the tracks from the 5 CD sets from the extant movies. Duel of Fates, Imperial March, opening theme, Princess Leia's theme, Cantina, the asteroid field, the original Sy snootles (not that new thing ), and a few others that seem to work right.
If you have a nice sound card and decent set-up, you should be able to fade the music in and out without really messing things up too much.
Of course, the sound effects are great to use for a botch, an ambush, or when a bad guy bites it (hence the plethora of death screams!) _________________ "Let your anger be like a monkey in a pinata"

In the few I've hosted I never thought about it, and in nearly half of them I was in a situation where I couldn't use any kind of audio device. Since the last session I haven't been able to put a session together and have merely been creating material and trying to create adventures without sidetracking myself. _________________ FLUFFY for President!!!!
