As we're chatting about it on IRC, here's what I've drafted (without using d20 stats as a basis for conversion)

Z-6 Rotary Blaster Canon
Model: Merr-Sonn Munitons Heavy Rotary Blaster
Type: Heavy repeating blaster
Scale: Character
Skill: Blaster: Rotary blaster
Ammo: 500 (Cost 150); 5000 with separate power generator (requires a crewman)
Cost: 6,000
Availability: 4, X
Range: 3-50/150/400
Damage: 7D+1
Notes: The z-6 is truly a Heavy Blaster; the unweildly size and weight of this weapon require a minimum Strength of 3D to wield properly and cannot be lifted by someone with <2D Strength. Characters with low strength attempting to use the Z-6 do so at higher difficulty, all range increments are treated as one higher, unless the weapon is tripod mounted.
Due to the weapon's design, it is impossible to fire a single round. 5 ammo are consumed in a single shot as the weapon rapidly fires, resulting in the weapon's high damage rating.
This weapon is equipped with a Burst Mode, firing up to 166 rnd/sec. A burst may be targeted on a single target, dealing 8D damage, or may be fired in an arc, dealing regular damage against those within the firing arc. A separate skill roll (without additional MAPs) is required for each target within the burst arc. A full clip allows for three bursts. The burst mode generates significant recoil; a Moderate Strength roll is required after each burst to maintain control of the gun and fire the next round.

I know there are arc-fire burst rules on other guns already, I don't have the time to look up the arc size at the moment, but using that seems reasonable.

I want one! No, two! And mount it on the Entry Ramp so I can lay down covering fire as the rest of the group runs up the ramp!

you have to cover the potential stormies. they coudl be here at any second. better start firing just in case.

Aside from puzzlement at the need for rotating barrels of any sort for an energy based weapon, since there's no bullets involved? No. Definitely no criticism for the conversion.

Ammo of 500 seems kinda high for the power output of 7d+1.

Yeah, I considered that as well. But it kind of balances out. The fire rate is up to 166rnd/sec according to the fluff text, and the fluff mentions that short ammo is one of its drawbacks. At that firerate, a full 500 shot clip takes 3 sec to expend (about 1 combat round), which isn't much... Incorporate that each single shot takes 5 rounds, that leads to 100 non-burst shots... It's a bit of a balancing act between the fluff and game mechanics. The 7D+1 damage comes from each shot being the amalgam of 5 blaster bolts, not a single one, incrementally increasing the damage.

But only a single barrel fires at a time, look at the image above, that being said you might try recomputing the stats.

But a single press of the trigger fires 5 bolts as they all fire in quick succession.

It's pretty difficult to fire a single bullet with an actual minigun/Gatling gun. A trigger press starts a rotation, and it's rotation rate is much greater than any being's reflexes. While a single bolt is fired from a barrel, the way I've reconciled the ammo level, increased damage and high fire rate given in the fluff text is to make it so that a trigger press causes a 5/6 rotation, firing off 5 bolts (reducing apparent ammo, increasing total damage) in rapid succession, and the rotation ends sitting on the 6th barrel, which is still cool, ready for the next shot.

Yeah, the stats seem fine, but like masque pointed out, I felt the concept of such a weapon is rather ridiculous when it comes to a blaster type weapon.

I can just see it now... some gun bunny sitting on the entrance ramp of a ship with one of these, firing off gobs of shots at approaching stormtroopers, yelling "Git some!" Laughing
