No they won't. Unless they have no power supplied via the ship and are fully mechanical (airlock and releasing mechanism) the trickle charge they are on would be shut down just like the rest of the ship. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

It makes sense that an escape pod is fully mechanical. In the Star Wars universe, it's just too easy for the whole ship to lose power (ion hits, blaster bolts roasting the power plant, proton torpedo separating the engine fro the rest of the ship, some buddy dropping their lightsaber on a power cable three decks above you, etc). Explosive bolts, springs, manual locks, etc.
At least, that makes sense. Then again, Star Wars isn't suppose to have paper, either... |
