The author of The Courtship of Prince Leia had an accident. Rumors had been circulating about his death today, but tonight his son Spencer posted a correction.

Thank you for all the messages and people reaching out. We wanted to provide an update on how Dave is doing.
Dave suffered a fall down the stairs this morning, and hit his head. He has suffered a hemorrhagic stroke with bleeding around his brainstem. He is comatose and on life support. To put it simply, he is not doing well at the moment. We are waiting for immediate family to be able to come and see him before making decisions on how to proceed.
We appreciate all the notes and messages, and love for Dave. I will post an update as things change. |
That's so horrible. My heart goes out to his family.

RIP Dave Wolverton. He was 64.
Although I never cared for the Force working like magic or riding rancors as mounts, I felt he really captured Han Solo's character (my fave SW character). It was a lot of fun to see Han get himself into some high stakes underworld gambling to win a planet (any planet) for Leia. And then kidnap her to take her to it. So Han Solo. Hapans were interesting, and they are a playable PC race in game.
