Just checking to see if there are players out there who want a new game, and if so, what type of game are you looking for?

Count me in, I'd be up for something.

I prefer to run around in canon settings but steer clear of major characters, so fringers in Classic or Clone Wars periods would be great with the events of the eras bubbling away in the background.

I'd love to be part of a game. I'm up for anything so long as it dosnt completely butcher canon.

I'm willing to play in any era. But I do admit to a fondness for both the Tales of the Jedi and Dark Age eras.

Let us know what kind of campaign/era you want to run along with any special rules for character creation and I'll get to work on my character! I prefer to scratch build my characters, but I'll use a template if thats the way you prefer to go with things.

I'm with southpaw, I also prefer to keep things as close to canon as possible. And the appearance of major characters should be rare, brief, and profound.

I would love to do a one-shot or something short, as I don't have a huge amount of time to invest.

I am still in the process of setting up for running my first campaign ever of SWd6 with my wife/kids and could use some experience.

If you're looking for something longer term, I prob should not commit.

Thx.

You might ask Wisconsin Wookiee if its ok to run a short term character if its a long term game. Like a guide, diplomat or some kind of specialist who is only needed in the story for a while.

Also, the pace of the game might have some bearing on how long you are able to play as well. Its a lot easier to keep up with a one post a week game than it is to keep up with a one post a day game.

I wouldn't mind being part of a new game. When you have finalized what era you're going to run, send me a PM to let me know what kind of characters you'd like to see. I'll drum something up from there.

Glad to finally see some responses to this thread. First off, it sounds like we are agreed on our preference to stick close to canon.

As far as eras to play in, almost all of my experience has been in the Rebellion/New Republic era. I am not opposed to giving something else a try. In fact, a recent thread has me thinking about trying something in the Clone Wars Era. The problem there is that I have a relatively low number of sources for that. Truthfully, in the weeks since posting this thread, I have not thought a lot about it because it appeared that there was no interest. Let me think a day or two and perhaps I can get back to you all with a solid idea.

When you say "a one-shot," do you have in mind an adventure that lasts a few weeks or a month? Seeing as this would be my first shot at running a PBP game, I would not be opposed to something like that.

On the other hand, we could also shoot for a game that posts maybe 2-3 times a week. What does everyone else here think? What kind of a pace is workable for those who have expressed interest?

2-3 times a week should work nicely. If the pace seems too fast or two slow to you, you can always adjust the pace once we are started.

As for how often I can post, . . . I could probably post twice a day (Morning and evening), but I think every other, or every third day would be a much more reasonable pace.

I can prolly get in a post or two in most days so yeah 2-3 a week should be a breeze.

Settingwise, going with whatever's gonna be the most fun and rewarding for you, Wookster. I've GMd online stuff before and it's a hard gig maintaining the rage, so you gotta go with whatever's going keep you going for a while.

Lookin forward to hearing your ideas!

As long as Im not having any issues that keep me off for more than a day or two at a time, no sweat. I usually try to check this several times a day.

I take it that we are playing in the Clone Wars era. What kind of campaign will we be running? Will we be a group of Clones? Jedi? Mercenaries? Smugglers? Freedom Fighters? Sepratists? Something else?

Once we know what kind of campaign we will be playing, then I'll start start putting some thought into my character, . . .

And that's the problem, cause we don't know yet, I'm coming up with everything possible... and that's taking up too much head RAM.

I'm not 100% certain it was clone wars... guess we're on holding pattern till the big wookie speaks...

Good evening guys. Sorry for the suspsense, I had a fairly busy afternoon and evening.

I'll answer questions as best as I can at the moment. I am definitely leaning toward Clone Wars, but the only thing that makes me hesitate is having very few sourcebooks available on that era. I am going to do some research tonight to see what I can find and hopefully have more for you tomorrow.

As far as type of campaign that we are running, I always like my players to have some say in that. I want them to be able to play characters that they want to play.

So, if you can respond to the following, that will help me in getting a game plan ready. I have two ideas at the moment:

1. Clone Wars Era. Players would be with the Republic and part of a special task force. Charaters could be clones, jedi, or perhaps even a senator. I'd probably prefer one Jedi in the group, but could go two if one is willing to be a padawan and the other a master.

2. New Republic Era, shortly after Endor. Players would be part of a fringe group working for an information broker similar to Talon Karde. Characters could be any mix of fringe types, with one being the information broker. Other possibilities would be pilots, techs, slicers, mercenaries and body guards.

IF you could, either post or pm me your preference for the type of campaign and then what character type you are thinking about. Thanks, hopefully I will have more to follow soon.
