Con, Search and Willpower in resistance mode.. MAPS?

Had a conundrum brought out in Marcon yesterday.

In game when you are targeted by someone with Con, you 'resist' using Con. Sneak is resisted by Search. BUT those are all given MAPS to my knowledge from what actions you are doing.

How ever when 'resisting' damage, or force powers, your Str/Per or Control is not given any MAPS when 'resisting' them...

So, what about intimidation vs Willpower? Would that fall into the former resistance camp (the opposed skill roll) and thus BE hit by MAPS or not?

My thought are, if it something that just happens, independent of you doing something then you should not be given a MAP. Consider it unique type of situational modifier, but it has a sliding target number.

If it requires effort on the part of the player then this can be explained as a reaction skill and should be assessed a MAP.

Avoidance vs. Resistance.

Your trying to avoid something. MAP

Your already affected how strong will the affects be. No MAP

Is how I would roll.

So would you consider the Willpower vs Intimidation trying to avoid, or resist something? What of the Search vs Sneak or Con against Con/forgery against search examples??

I have never given a MAP for an intangible role like willpower, or most knowledge skills. I would allow a tactic skill roll and a command skill roll in the same round with no MAP.
