Capitalizing on the recent success of their joint venture with Subpro with the design and fielding of the X-12 Nova-burst, Incom diverted their starfighter development inward and designed a starfighter specifically for elite squadrons (and for those in service to the New Jedi order), a fighter that offers similar firepower, but with superior speed, maneuverability, and a faster hyperdrive.

Named for the legendary Twin Suns Squadron that served valiantly in the Yuuzhan Vong War, the X-14 Twin Suns shares much in common with the X-12 Nova-burst, to include the venerable "S-Foil" wing design that give the fighter an tactical edge to its laser cannon targeting system. Like the X-12, the Twin Suns is equipped with four heavy, stutter-fire capable laser cannons, and two high-yield proton torpedo launchers (with a larger payload of six torpedoes per launcher, as opposed to the X-12's four).

Four powerful Incom "Lightning" LF48 ion engines provide substantial thrust, while a Nubian JS22X hyperdrive rounds out the propulsion package, making the X-14 one of the galaxy's fastest hyperspace-capable starfighters. An advanced sensor package gives the pilot superior early warning and detection capabilities, enhancing the survivability of the Twin Suns, even when outnumbered.

While well worth the credits, the sheer expense of production has limited the distribution of the X-14 to only the very elite units of the Galactic Federation Starfighter Corps; both Rogue and Renegade Squadrons are equipped with the X-14, while the New Jedi Order only possesses a single squadron of Twin Suns.

A distant descendant of the famed Incom T-65 X-Wing starfighter, the X-12 Novaburst is a collaboration between the Incom and Subpro Corporations, whose renewed partnership sparks reminiscence of past achievements, such as the venerable Z-95 Headhunter and the ARC-170.

Like the X-Wing before, the X-12 utilizes the split "S-Foil" wing design, which serves a dual-purpose to maximize the targeting spread of its four heavy laser cannons and to vent excess heat from engines and the shield generators in the fuselage. The four heavy laser cannons are capable of tearing through most ray shields, and are stutter-fire capable to overwhelm dovin basal-equipped vessels (such as those of rogue Yuuzhan Vong ships) and/or gravitic manipulators. Two high-yield proton torpedo launchers give the X-12 significant stopping power against the particle shields of capital warships.

The X-12's high sublight speed and maneuverability make it a highly capable interceptor and dogfighter in the hands of an experienced pilot, and its powerful hyperdrive (coupled with a 24-jump coordinate capability with astromech droid) make the craft ideal for long-range inter-sector patrols, as well as hit-and-fade strikes against high value targets.

At present, the Incom/Subpro X-12 Novaburst has been fielded as the choice space superiority starfighter of the Galactic Federation Defense Force, with at least one squadron aboard most naval vessels, surface-based GFSFC units, and among the defense forces of the allied governments of the Galactic Federation at large.

Gravitic Manipulator (based on Dovin Basals (NJOS, pages 32-34))

A combination of Yuuzhan Vong and Verpine weapons research, gravitic manipulators are the technological equivalent of the Dovin Basal, able to manipulate gravitic fields to maximize ship defense and degrade enemy shields. This reduces the pursued vessel's Shield rating by a number of dice equal to the vessel fielding a gravitic manipulator’s own "Shield" rating each round until they are depleted. Against capital-scale ships, this shield loss is reduced by 1/3rd.

The power consumption of a gravitic manipulator is substantial, creating additional strain on the host vessel’s power-plant. While the manipulator is in use, the vessel’s space rating is reduced by 2 space units (based on the ship’s cruising speed rating).
Gravitic manipulators can also be used as tractor beams. The ship's gravitic manipulator Shield rating can be diverted, in whole or in part, and used as a tractor beam's damage roll (see "Tractor Beams," SWD6, page 127), adjusted for scale as normal. Of course, this reduces the ship's Shield rating so long as the gravitic manipulator is being used as a tractor beam.

In addition, they can also be used to create gravity wells in one fire arc, in much the same way as an Interdictor cruiser. While doing so, the ship's gravitic manipulators cannot act as shields.

One of Sienar Fleet Systems’ latest of its infamous TIE series, The Crusader TIE is a highly-formidable space superiority fighter, utilizing an advanced and very efficient twin ion engine system that is the very trademark of the starfighter line, with a sublight speed that exceeds that of most of the galaxy’s starfighters. With a reduced hull profile and enhanced maneuverability, the TIE Crusader is both difficult to spot and target with starship weapons. Unlike its ancient predecessors, the TIE Crusader is also equipped with shield generators to bolster its survivability in spite of possessing a rather fragile hull when compared to other designs.

Designed based on specifications offered by Emperor Andon Fel himself, the Shadow TIE represents the pinnacle of Sienar Fleet Systems starfighter design. While it shares several commonalities with the Crusader TIE, the Shadow TIE exceeds these capabilities by a significant margin. Its twin ion engine system gives it incredible acceleration, exceeding even the most advanced Incom design on the market. The already small hull profile of modern TIEs has been even further reduced with the Shadow TIE, making an already difficult to target fighter nearly impossible in the hands of a capable pilot.

While even more fragile than the Crusader series, powerful shield generators augment the Shadow TIE’s defenses, and an active stealth system can further benefit any pilot who wishes to avoid detection by the enemy, either in reconnaissance or space combat.

While possessing fewer weapons than the Crusader series, the TIE Shadow is still armed with two heavy laser cannons with stutter-fire capacity, along with a single high-yield proton torpedo launcher with four torpedoes capacity, making it a significant threat to standard starfighters, Yuuzhan Vong ships, and even transports.

The Shadow TIE is equipped with a very fast hyperdrive and an upgraded navigational computer that can hold up to twenty jump coordinates, essential for effective scouting and reconnaissance.

Shadow TIEs are reserved for the commanders of TIE squadrons, elite units (such as the 181st Fighter Group), limited reconnaissance squadrons, and Imperial Knights on assignment.

*: Rotating weapons pods: The K-80’s laser and ion weapons are mounted in rotating pods at either end of the craft for maximum coverage and tactical advantage. The gunner can spend one action to change the selected weapons (from lasers to ion cannons and vice-versa) and receive a +1D bonus to starship gunnery that round. Alternatively, the gunner can fire-link the laser cannons and ion cannons and fire both simultaneously for a -1D penalty to each starship gunnery roll with no additional action penalty. However, if the K-80 takes any weapons damage, roll 1D. On a 2, one of the pods is damaged and both weapons are inoperable until repaired. On a 1, the fire-link system is damaged and both rotating pods are inoperable until repaired.
