Although I never made it part of our official house rules, I think I was playing around with a version of the Scale rules that I think I found here. I'm wondering now how much I think this revision is accurate, especially in light of how we saw starfighters blowing the crap out of AT-ATs in Rogue One?

First off, for comparison, here's the 2R&E scale:

Character -
Speeder 2D
Walker 4D
Starfighter 6D
Space Transport 9D
Capital 12D
Death Star 24D

And the 'house rules' one I think I've used before, testing it out:

Character -
Cycle 2D
Speeder 4D
Starfighter 6D
Walker 8D
Starship 10D
Capital Ship 14D
Dreadnaught 18D
Death Star 24D

Scale isn't supposed to place larger vehicles completely out of harm's way, it just makes it harder. The AT-ACTs from Rogue One likely weren't as heavily armed and armored as the AT-ATs from ESB, and we never got to see how AT-ATs would fare against X-Wings anyway. The closest we have in the EU is in X-Wing: Isard's Revenge, where the lead flight of Rogue Squadron (Wedge, Tycho, Hobbie and Janson) went head-to-head against four AT-ATs. However, there were extenuating circumstances that made this not a fair representation; Rogue Squadron is obviously in hand-picked elite territory while the AT-AT crews were judged to be average at best, and Rogue Squadron deliberately handicapped themselves by not using their proton torpedoes (on the off chance there would be additional anti-capital ship work to do in orbit). It did, however, take multiple coordinated shots for a pair of X-Wings to just disable a single AT-AT.

So what are your thoughts, CRMc? Do you like the RAW scales? I was thinking I might have gotten this revised scale concept from you years ago.

It had that look to it. Here is the latest iteration of my house rule, which now includes a flat modifier option, as well as having folded the Called Shot rules in as Scale steps below Character-Scale.
