I don't know if this has ever been mentioned before, but there are two sensor systems mentioned in Starlog Magazine's Star Wars Technical Journal that are worth adding to the list of sensor types in the SW Sourcebook. They are mentioned in name only, but are included in the technical specifications of the X, Y and A-Wing (and are presumably also mounted on the B-Wing, whose spec sheet is quite abbreviated by comparison). Little description is provided, but their purpose can be inferred by their name to some degree.
Phased Tachyon Detection Array - Since tachyons are FTL, this is presumably a long-range sensor that provides real-time scanning beyond the range of DERs or FSTs.

Primary Threat Analysis Grid - My presumption is that this is less of a sensor than it is a sensor analysis system, like the Life Form Indicator. Rather than sifting through sensor data to identify life forms by their readings, this sensor analyzes the trajectory and speed of nearby craft, identifying and highlighting potential threats.

Maybe it's for detecting ships entering and leaving hyperspace... as they come in, there may be a spray of FTL particles that this would pick up.

The Hyperwave Signal Interceptor already does this. A new kind of sensor should do something new, not be a redundant version of something else.

For the tachyon one, I see it as one or two different possibilities: it senses thing in hyperspace and/or it senses things from within hyperspace.

It's pretty well established in the EU that ships in hyperspace cannot be detected by normal sensors, and neither can they themselves scan normal space, apart from detecting gravity wells in their paths.

The reason I went with a long range sensor is that, since tachyons move at FTL velocities, it would allow sensors to function at much greater real-time ranges, since they wouldn't have the delay involved with purely light speed sensors.
