Did anyone else pre-order their opening night tickets yet? I did for my first two showings. I have 12/15 with my wife and friend, and I also have the morning of 12/17 for my son and me.

I have a toddler, so going to shows is a bit more difficult. Wife and I want to see Moanna and Rogue One, so we're going to have to arrange times with babysitters.

I hear you. My son is 7 but we'll still need to get a babysitter for him for RO opening night. I won't let my son watch any PG-13 movie without me seeing it first, but I'm planning on him still being able to see it for my second viewing. I may just need to "prep" him for it. For TFA my wife was so shocked and disturbed by Solo's death that she at first didn't want to let my son watch it at all. I counter proposed that we give him advance warning that one of the classic trinity would be killed by Kylo Ren, and she relented. I warned him and he was fine with it when it happened.

Assuming there again won't be any dealbreaker aspects, this year it will be the same where I'll be able to talk to him Friday morning about any mature aspects, and he'll have all day and one night's sleep to process and mentally prepare before he sees it Saturday morning.

Solid plan. It's something we're going to need to think about, especially as my wife's family are avid movie-goers.

Seen it. Liked it. Lots and lots of stuff to discuss later, once everyone's seen it. My first impression? Much better than Force Awakens, and does nicely what it set out to do. Caters more to an adult audience. Tone-wise, I'd suggest it is perhaps even darker than ESB - no victory comes without a cost.

I was thinking of actually seeing it tomorrow night in the late showings for its opening, but with the damn temps dropping into the single digits (AND the wind chill being much worse), i will keep to my original plan and see it next week on tuesday during the 5 buck tuesdays...

Unless the theater added last minute screenings, I would think it would be next to impossible to get tickets for tonight if you don't already have them anyway.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of Winter so I can't wait until Star Wars moves back to May with the young Han Solo film (2018). Only one more December movie after this one (Episode 8, 2017).

Absolutely! I'm sure CRMcNeil will get on that when he sees the movie and maybe also has access to some technical fluff.

Here is the beginning of the movie discussion in the RO Spoilers Allowed thread. Please chime in there!

I am already surprised he already has not had half a dozen threads on new/revised stuff! 8)

Maybe he's out on the road and/or hasn't seen it yet. And it will take some time for all the technical fluff to become available. Unlike Lucas who had all that stuff out weeks before the movie's release, Disney actually waits for the movie to come out to start pumping stuff out.

A lot of the Rogue One Visual Guide, which combines the typical Dictionary and Cross-Sections books, has already been posted online.

Spoilers, but if you're interested: http://imgur.com/a/8MIqz

Yeah that came out today. I can't wait to get it. I would have went and gotten it today but I had to provide a Christmas list for my wife and her family, so I put the Rogue One goodies that came out today on the list. There are a couple things coming out Tuesday that I didn't put on the list because that is cutting closer to Christmas. I really can't wait to get the new Galactic Maps atlas which will presumably include the systems of TFA and RO.

Just checking in. I have an unexpected night off, so I will be seeing Rogue One in a couple hours. I've been sick, and extraordinarily busy with work, as well as avoiding spoilers like the plague. I am very much looking forward to crunching some numbers and banging out some stats for what I see tonight.
