Does anyone have any ideas or know of a resource for living expenses and salaries?

Specifically I'm talking about Tatooine-esque locales.

I'm just after a few comparisons really - salaries for militia, police, officials and then general day to day living costs (food, rent, spaceship repairs) that kind of thing.

Any ideas would be great!

Day to day i would say probably, 10cr for food, 20cr for rent, repairs depend on who you go to and what is being repaired.

Salary for a military personel i would say probably... 1500 every two weeks.
Police, ur on tatooine, what police?!... (1000 a week for them)
Officials.... again, your on tatooine, what officials?... (probably 2000)

On other planets it may be higher depending on what quality their their technology, supplies, and the planet its self is in..

I could be way off on the CR expenses, and salaries, but it's just an opinion.

You might want to check the Star Wars Sourcebook, Warhippo. It's equipment chart has a large list that will be of use in answering this question. For instance, renting a hovel would run you 150-250 credits a month where as a regular apartment runs 250-500 credits a month. To rent storage space runs 50-100 credits a month. Buying a house would set you back 35,000 credits. Casual wear and buisness wear both run 75 credits, whereas formal wear runs 100 credits. Rations run 200 credits.

The Star Wars Sourcebook has credit amounts for generic housing on page 101. 300cr is right on the money. I'd go less 10cr for food though. If I think about modern equivalent. I maybe eat 1/5 or 1/6 of what my rent cost is. Keeping in mind Tatooine is out-of-the-way and can't grow much so it probably imports most foodstuffs I'd up it to 1/4 to 1/3 maybe as much as 1/2 my rent. Salaries are tougher, but I'd go lower. You could work up their monthly expenses and pay them a little more than that. Maybe 600-700cr for average Joe? Any other thoughts?

Also try checking chapter 12 of GG9 as it lists prices for some of the drinks in there, but not all of them.

...actually I use money only as an adventure hook. It works even with extremely rich characters, who find that their republican credits are worth nothing on remote worlds. Spare parts, refueling, fees, loans...this can easily turn into an economy simulator and I'm not into that.

I ask how much money the characters take with them. Especially undeveloped planets might have a poor network of republican/imperial banks.

One player actually owns a pirate fleet. As long as it's fun to play, it's ok with me.

Money is always useful.

The Oota Crew castrated the danger of, then destroyed (Not killed, DESTROYED), an enemy with just our Bank Cards and Oota's link to the Bounty Hunter's Guild.

Someone put a price on our heads. So, we put up a counter-price. TWICE what we were worth for the idiots who caught us, provided we were rescued. And a *LOT* more for the idiot who put the price on our heads in the first place.

We found out it was the CEO of NovaTech (A Power Armour Company that Oota got a *LOT* of concessions out of when their suit failed to protect him from a Percussion Cap & Ball Single-Shot Pistol!).

So, we went over to where it was headquartered (In the Corporate Sector), found out that 54% or so of the voting stock was up for grabs, and bought controlling interest in the company.

Never discount the power of the almighty credit. It'll move mountains better than the Force if you have enough greedy (Or needy) people around. As long as you have enough shovels to go around. Laughing

I've found that Credit prices listed in the Star Wars sourcebook bear very close relations to real world dollars, depending on where in the US you compare prices from. So I typically base cost of living and sallery on that (of course changing it to credits) and it works easily enough. I have also found taking real world items and just renaming them fancier (as suggested in the rule book) works to cover the needs of players when they absolutely MUST have something not in the book.

ON Coruscant or IN Coruscant. Coruscant has something of an underdark, where things are seemingly unregulated. It's a despicable, disgusting places.

So the rent must be horrible too.

And I'd say depening on just where you want to live, Coruscant housing varies as much as apartments in new york.

200c for a one room efficiency. 1200c for something more like a home.

A house on Tatooine is more around 200c. And in a lot of cases there is no rent, just 200c.

That is very diffrent from a one room eficiency. And a lot cheaper than the 1200c for a home.
