I imagined this piece of ordnance a while back, and have most of it statted out.

Shoulder-Fired Laser Cannon
This light laser cannon resembles a four-foot-long fat tube; a shoulder-rest three-quarters of the way back underneath; a pistol grip and trigger further ahead and pointing diagonally right and down; a front pistol grip yet further forward, pointing diagonally left and down; a folding bipod near the front; and the tube of a sight on the left top of the weapon, near the firing grip.
It is carried by one man and crewed by two, the second carrying the unused barrel in a heat-protective fabric sleeve, and power packs. Power packs are inserted in the rear of the tube. Their nature is a key part of this unusual design: to permit laser cannon power without laser cannon-size generators and cooling technology, the packs are designed to overload and explode themselves upon discharge, venting the heat and blast out the rear of the tube. There is no need for the protective shielding or cooling devices of regular power packs. However, the general area behind the cannon is unsafe for a certain distance when firing. After discharge, the remains of the power pack are popped out by opening of the loading door/vent. The barrels have a heat-resistant ceramic sleeve as their outer layer, and are pulled from the rear of the tube body after a quarter unlocking turn when being switched, and replaced accordingly.
The normal barrel is the laser cannon barrel; the other is the sprayblaster barrel, which consists of a cluster of blaster barrels which link to a single power pack plug. This barrel discharges a deadly cone of blaster bolts from the cannon for mowing down personnel. Homeworld of origin has it carried on foot, on beast-back, in personnel transports, with space- and air-dropped troops, and sometimes mounted to vehicles.

Model:
Type: Shoulder-fired laser cannon
Scale: Speeder (with exceptions)
Skill: Blaster artillery: shoulder-fired laser cannon
Body: 3D+2 (character-scale)
Fire Rate: 1/3 (for 3 shots; must then cool for 60 turns [five minutes]); 1/12 (indefinitely)
Ammo: 1
Ranges: 3-70/350/700; Sprayblaster barrel: See below
Damage: 5D Speeder scale (Blast radius: ); Sprayblaster barrel: See below
Cost:
Availability: 3, X (2 on homeworld)
Weight: 35 lbs. [17 kgs.]
Dimensions:
Notes: Reloading takes one turn (after firing turn).
Sight gives +1D to hit if aimed for one turn; rest gives additional +1D when used for aiming, and may be left aimed; that is, sighted-in and left set up.
Dangerous area [such-and-such dimensions] behind tube upon firing; damage of ?D, which may not be dodged, but is affected by cover in its damage.
Sprayblaster barrel: It and regular barrel may be swapped out interchangeably (a two-turn action). The cone of bolts spreads the following width at the following ranges, with the following Character-scale damage to targets in cone: 1/30, 6d+1; 2/60, 5D; 3/90, 4/120, 4D+1; 5/150, 6/180, 7/200, 4D. The bolts may not be dodged, but are affected by cover both in their chance to hit and their damage.

35 lbs. [17 kgs.] Lifting Difficulty Chart: 1 round-10 minutes: Very Easy; 15 minutes-2 hours: Easy; 3 hours-6 hours: Moderate; 9 hours-12 hours: Difficult; 15 hours-18 hours: Very Difficult; 24 hours: Heroic

This, naturally, is portable firepower, in a non-gamebreaking package; suitable for blasting buildings, doors, vehicles, air- and space-craft (if one can hit them), and dangerous groups or monstrosities. Please comment, advise, muse, etc., freely on it. It is a Star Wars variant of something real; take your guesses, if you will, and I will reveal the identity of its inspiration further down the thread. You are, of course, free to use it, indeed, encouraged.

In other galactic news, certain persons have been found to be shipping quantities of these nefarious cannon, in defiance of weapons trade regulations, to one Garkhal for use.

Well, there's always D'harhan and his light-mass core and attached blaster cannon.

Turns are 1 second?!? Very Happy Actually that might make for some interesting gameplay... In moderation...

So this gizmo sounds like a laser recoilless rifle. I like the concept!

"One minute" was a piece of forgetfulness on my part; it is five minutes, and now reads correctly. Congratulations on catching that error.
