Another suggestion would be to start an Index on the first post, with links to the stat posts for each starfighter.

Thanks for all your help with Ray's project here.

I don't know if the generator makes images larger than 750 pixels wide, but if so then they should be resized to 750 or less. All the one added so far are fine as is.

And if there is a choice between .jpg and .png, I would choose .jpg. The .png images occasionally don't work here, but .jpg always works.

Taking the body and brain of a Vulture Droid and strapping it to the engines and wings of a Z-95 Headhunter does not seem to be the wisest of ideas, but if you're a militant group that has more techs than snubfighter pilots, then it might be a solution as to how you get starfighters flying.

A rare sight, some early rebel cells that used to be Separatists were known to use these craft as a stepping stone towards far more credible designs, and to give the techs that built them experience in dealing with starfighters for when purpose-built models were finalized.

Most of these rebel cells did not survive the Empire long enough, but a good number of their members escaped and their experience kept other cells' Z-95s, RZ-1 "A-Wings", and various Y-Wing ships running, and even upgrading the systems to allow them to somewhat face more modern craft.

Considered by some to be the pinnacle of "Ugly Technology", the YT-Gunship Ugly is a mismatch of starfighter parts with freighter components. Using the engines from three wrecked Y-Wings, the cockpit of a Trainer-style starfighter of unknown make and model with the laser cannons of it intact, aftermarket sensor blisters, aftermarket turrets all over the place, and armour plating dating back to scrap metal from the Clone Wars, this craft only lacks projectile weapons.

This design is, however, beyond most illegal chop shops, and only found with the best heeled crime syndicates or mercenary groups. The rare pirate that can field one of these often replaces the nose laser cannons under the cockpit for ion cannons, and removes one of the side-mounted laser cannons for a docking port with a hull cutter of some variety, and potentially scrapping the armour to allow for a boarding party.

Popular among Hutt Cartels that have a lot of shot up Scyk fighters and a nearly equal amount of shot up TIE Fighters that shot up those Scyks, the "Sick Fighter" uses the best of both designs with the modern sensors, targeting system, and laser cannons of the TIE Fighter cockpit with the adaptability of the Scyk's weapons loadout, typically loaded with either warhead launchers or ion cannons depending on the role (or what was on sale at the black market.). Slower and much less nimble than either of the parent craft, it's use as a "Light Bomber" or "Light Torpedo Snubfighter" is hampered only by the fact that the craft lacks a designated gunner. And, of course, being an Ugly that is barely held together.

The YT Ugly is really awesome! I could see a cash strapped alliance maybe even using one.

When a few Logistics Officers of the Rebel Alliance ran into a pirate YT-Gunship, they started hashing out ideas for how to better protect their own logistics fleet, and came up with this design. Replacing the stock single laser turret with a quad-laser mount, and replacing the cockpit with whatever trainer starfighter cockpit that could be found, and mounting nose guns on that, they also gutted the cargo bay inside the craft in order to fit up to 20 passengers for moving officers or SpecOps platoons to their areas of operation. While not as impressive an attack force compared to it's less reputable cousin, this Logistics Gunship can haul a decent amount of cargo for the amount of equipment and personnel movement capabilities. A few of these in with the rest of a convoy of light freighters turns the typical "Nerf Shoot" that Imperial pilots thought into a real challenge.

Fighter Compliment:
12 Rebel Starfighters (Plus 2 Spare Fighters In Storage And 1 Longprobe Y-Wing Or Recon X-Wing)

An extremely rare Capital Ship Ugly. Having acquired a number of written-off Ghtroc Empress-class hulls, along with pieces of shattered Blockade Runners and Corellian Gunships from various battle sites, the decision to put the massive engines and power plants on the rear of the Empresses, stripping the original engines and escape pods from the craft, mounting a pair of anti-starfighter laser cannons for defense, and the idea was to make a leaner, meaner Blockade Runner, ones capable of deploying combat speeders as well as extensive amounts of supplies.

This turned out to be a horrible idea as the Ugly Capital Ship ended up breaking up as it hit the atmosphere. But, rather than giving up on the design, the Rebellion converted them into pocket Escort Carriers, capable of holding a whole squadron of snubfighters. Most of these ships come from Mon Calamari shipyards, so each one is unique to one another, even more so than typical Uglies.

The mechanical opposite to the CloakHunter, the Headshape Ugly is nose heavy, lacks a heavy punch, and only has Blaster Cannons as weapons instead of Laser Cannons. Despite that, the design goes well together somehow, making for an Ugly that has the same reputation as the Z-95 HeadHunter for durability. It is still an Ugly, however, with all the negative issues that goes with it, especially downtime between missions.

A favored Ugly of Pirates in the middle of the Rebellion Era, this craft is used both as a space superiority fighter and an ion boat. The Y-Wing's nose cannons and projectile launchers are stripped out to fit an aftermarket sensor package, but otherwise it is a mating up of a Y-Wing's Body to a TIE Interceptor's engines and wings. Astromechs tend to get depressed when mounted in these craft, and often ask for frequent memory wipes. The rear gunner's seat is sometimes used for transporting low bulk/high priced goods as the need for a gunner is far less needed in this style of Ugly.

One of the tiniest of starfighters, smaller even than the TIE/ln that is one of the base parts of it, the "Screamer" is a TIE/ln cockpit attached to an A-Wing's engines. The lighter weight of the craft technically means it can go faster than the listed speed, but the imperfect balance of the engines and hull generates vibrations that will literally rattle the ship apart if done. The weirdest part is that every Workshop that builds these modify the A-Wing Engines to have the same "Screaming" sound that are infamous of the TIE line of Starfighters, which is the reason for the nickname.

Only the best, and most insane pilots ever try to get these, as they can blow up with a hard look, forget cannon fire.
