What kind of effects would suggest for alcholo in the game?
For a polt device, as part of some of my players's back story they went on a bender with the left over credits from the loan they succured from a crime lord for his ship. They awoke 2 days later with no memory of what happened. A few days later they ended up having to hide some weapons in their hidden compartments. In the compartments they found 2 crates of Correlian Whiskey.
They haven't drank it yet but I was wondering what kind of negitives would be in order... |

Galaxy Guide 9 - Fragments from the Rim has a nice section on alcoholic drinks and their effects, a really big help in adding some color to your cantina ventures. _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |

In general, penalties to knowledge and perception.
Black outs are always fun, too. |

Ewoks are apparently immune to Hangover cures as well.
At least, the one we hung around with was.
Poor little guy. We had to take away his satchel full of explosives. And carry him in a wheelbarrow.
But man was that a fine party! |

Stamina rolls to resist effects. Difficulty threshold increasing with each dose. Penalties to skills and attributes as appropriate (maybe starting at a pip or two for mild intoxication). Etc. I would handle them much the same as non-lethal poisons. Though, you can get alcohol poisoning if you drink too much.
This might be better suited to the house rules forum. _________________ "There's a set way to gain new Force Points and it represents a very nice system, where you're rewarded for heroism, not for being a poor conductor to electricity." ~Jachra |

Kage is probably right, and without going over there to see if it was indeed taken there, I want to also point out that if you have Jedi in your party, they can use Detoxify Poison to nullify the effects of the alcohol. My first Jedi character did this to win a lum guzzling contest to earn the credits to book passage offworld. He even made it look good, kinda like the chick in the bar in Raiders of the Lost Ark- swaying a little, almost gonna pass out, then downs the next round... |

My Redneck Jedi Template mentions that he thinks it's a "Cure Hangover" power. |

Has anyone seen - or better yet have - a list of drinks in the Star Wars Universe (I mean in addition to GG 9 of course). Given the time my groups used to spend in bars during their campaigns it might be fun and useful to put together a list of drinks and decided thier effects and their strength that is to be rolled against stamina and just how the cumulative effect of several drinks will work. Is a Gamorrean Ale stroner than a Bimm Brew? These are important questions and inquiring minds want to know! _________________ "What a wonderful smell you've discovered"

If the Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster isn't on the list, it should be. _________________ Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid. |

We have a few taken from GG9, just so we can order something specific if we go into a bar, but otherwise don't keep close to it all as we don't do heavy drinking in our games. I suggest just pullnig the GM power of "this is what it does", most likely as stated before prc and knw penalties.

You might be a Jedi Redneck if:
1. Upon hearing about all those "special modifications" Han Solo made to the Millennium Falcon, you automatically think of redwood decking...
2. Upon learning Luke and Leia were twins, you STILL didn't have a problem with that kiss on the Death Star...
3. Any of your relatives look like Chewbacca...
4. You can readily identify the taste of Ewok...
5. At least one of the wings on your X-wing fighter is painted primer grey...
6. You have at least one landspeeder up on blocks in your front yard...
7. You've ever heard Darth Vader say to you, "Well shucks, son! Why don't ya come on over to the Dark Side for a spell; it'll be a hoot!"
8. You've ever used the Force to retrieve and/or open a can of beer...
9. You've ever heard Darth Vader say to you, "I am your father...and your uncle!!!" |
