I had a pre-surgery appointment at the hospital today. I have to get another covid test on Saturday. My kidney operation is scheduled for Wednesday next week.

The good news is, I've lost 10 lbs. since I had the severe gallbladder attack 24 days ago.

Glad to hear you are at least feeling a little better, Whill!

Hoping that from here on out you will roll only 6s on your Wild Die! Very Happy

Thanks, everyone.

So I had my second covid test today, this one being required before my kidney surgery. Today's was a drive-through test after waiting over an hour in a looong line of cars. And this was a long q-tip swab in the back of my throat - gag. (I liked the pipe filter in the nose better.) Now I'm home and have to quarantine until going to the hospital for my surgery on Wednesday.

Yesterday my urology doctor called me himself and apologized for not getting the vascular specialist referral for my aneurysm through faster. I still don't understand what the problem was, but he said it was his fault. He gave me the doctor name and phone number so I called them. The scheduler saw the referral in the system and pushed it through so I could get an appointment. The earliest they could get me in was December 3rd. She said they might be able to get me into a different doctor sooner, so I called my urology office back and they said that specific referred doctor was best and it is better to wait because my aneurysm was little less than a centimeter (for peripheral aneurysms, urgent is 1.5cm or bigger). So I feel a little better about this delay.

Yeah, hang in there! It'll get done, eventually. Confused

As for myself, I get to go to the plague zone, er, hospital tomorrow to see if I have an autoimmune disease or not. Joy.

Well I certainly hope you find out you don't, but you either already do or already don't.

But I truly hope you don't get the plague either. I'm not too thrilled about going to doctors and the hospital so d@mn much during a pandemic. My covid test Saturday came back "not detected" and I am in strict quarantine until going to the hospital for the surgery Wednesday.

Security was hard and heavy at Spook Central, er, the hospital.

No autoimmune disease, but I do have chronic pain that'll never go away, only, maybe medicated to being tolerable.

Apparently I've had this situation with me for decades at this point. It was just fobbed off by my doctors back home through the years. And not brought up with my doctors in Winnipeg because, well, "The other doctors said it was nothing, just toughen up."

Anyhow, I kind of hijacked this thread enough. Good luck, Whill!

That sucks about the chronic pain, but its good that you don't have an autoimmune disease, especially now in this pandemic. And no, you didn't hijack this thread. You or anyone are welcome to talk about your medical updates. It doesn't have to be all about me.

I got the call earlier and I am to report for surgery at 7:15am tomorrow morning.

Belatedly catching up on this, but I’ve been slammed busy at work (minimum 400 miles/day for the last eight days). Good luck with the surgery, Whill.

I got word from another channel that Whill has come home from the hospital after the procedure today.

Speedy recovery, good sir!
