I just learned that LucasBooks executive editor J.W. Rinzler recently passed away after a year long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was author of several behind the scenes (real world) reference books, and he was editor of many other books. Below are the books he authored. I have all of them except the Blueprints book. Rinzler was Star Wars scholar supreme!

I highly recommend the three massive CT 'Making Of' books that takes these films from concept to release in great detail. The Sounds book is a cool thick book that also has batteries, an interface, a speaker, and over 250 sound effects. The Star Wars comic book is a lot of fun, and comes in a nice hardback compilation book.

The Star Wars (comic mini-series based on the 1974 draft of Star Wars)
The Making of Star Wars: The Definitive Story Behind the Original Film
The Making of The Empire Strikes Back
The Making of Return of the Jedi
    The Sounds of Star Wars
The Making of Star Wars Revenge of the Sith
The Art of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
    Star Wars: The Blueprints

Yeah, I heard of his death the other day when I was listening to a livestream on Youtube Sad.

I hope that they release the Sequel stuff he did that got shelved, to honour his Star Wars work.

As far as I know, the only unreleased DT book was the Making of TFA. Maybe it will see the light of day someday, like an anniversary of TFA release.

Yeah, that's the one. I hope they do release it.
