Another bonus, is force users(well sensitives) can carry any # of force points. Non force users, are cappd at 5.

That is true. Another aspect of RAW that makes Jedi more powerful than non-Jedi PCs is the Force Point maximum non-Jedi have.

Personally, I feel that no FP max is too much and Jedi PCs should have a max too, just a higher max than non-Jedi PCs. But that is another topic.

...A bit late to respond, but I was curious how this Force Powers as Advance Skills would work with Dathomirian magics?

I haven't really looked into that, and I have actually updated the rule by removing the Advanced Skills aspect. That being said, it wouldn't be all that hard to slot Dathomirian magic spells into this system with minimal adjustments.

In my "force powers are advanced skill trees like martial arts" version, the various powers have notes on their "access".

Basically, some abilities have a restricted story factor.

For example, the jedi force tradition does not teach force lightning, so someone in that force tradition could not learn it - unless there was a good story/campaign reason.

Additionally, I describe the various traditions as sometimes just having different flavor variations - i.e. the rules are the same (the damage of force lightning) but the color is different - green instead of white.

Often I find, we don't need to complicate story/narrative based elements with extra rules - when at the core, one set of mechanics works for both.
