Region: Mid Rim Territories, The Slice
Sector: Mytaranor sector
System: Kashyyyk system
Trade Route(s): Durkteel Loop, Great Kashyyyk Branch, Nightroad, Randon Run
Strategic Location: Near key Wookiee and Trandoshan homeworlds; frequently used as a covert hunting preserve and prisoner drop zone
Sun(s): Kashyyyk
Orbital Position: Moon of Trandosha (3rd planet in system)
Moon(s): None (it is a moon itself)
Length of Day: 24 standard hours
Length of Year: 374 local days (same as Trandosha)
Starport(s): None; hidden landing pads on Island Four and other concealed locations used by the Hunting Guild
Type: Terrestrial moon
Temperature: Temperate
Atmosphere: Type I (breathable to most species)
Hydrosphere: Moderate (saltwater seas, freshwater springs)
Gravity: Standard
Terrain: Thorny bramble forests, volcanic beaches, high basalt cliffs, brackish marshes
Points of Interest: Island Four (Garnac’s hunting base; fortified tower, shuttle landing pad, and control node for the prey-drop system), The Drop Sites (designated clearings where prey are released via automated pod launchers), The Needle Ridges (massive spire-like formations used as lookouts and sniping points by hunters), The Fallen Ship Grave (a dense part of the jungle littered with wreckage from old slaver and smuggler ships)
Native Flora: Rancor Bramble (thorned, fast-growing brush that dominates much of the forest), Marina Rung Flower (glowing purple flower that blooms once a year during Wasskah’s wet season; mildly toxic to some non-native species)
Native Fauna: Convor (small owl-like creatures, often believed to be Force-sensitive watchers), Momong (Agile glider-primates, common in the canopy), jungle insects (aggressive, stinging swarms during the midday heat)
Native Species: None
Immigrated Species: Trandoshans (permanent hunting lodge crew), captured prey (various species)
Population: Estimated 80 permanent Trandoshan inhabitants (plus transient hunting parties and prisoners)
Languages: Dosh, Basic
Government: None officially; dominated by Garnac’s Hunting Guild
Tech Level: Spacefaring (imported tech only)
Planet Function: Private hunting preserve, illegal detainment and sport-hunting site
Major Cities: None; Island Four serves as the only permanent structure of significance
Major Exports: None legally, black market trophies (claws, hides, teeth, artifacts taken from prisoners)
Major Imports: Weaponry, prey (sentients abducted or purchased from slavers), medical equipment, ration supplies for the hunters
Special Conditions:
-- Hunting Rights: The moon is treated as private territory by the Trandoshan Guild; approaching it without Guild sponsorship often results in being mistaken for prey
-- Prey Pods: Used to launch prisoners into jungle zones from orbit or high atmosphere
-- Atmospheric Interference: Due to magnetic mineral deposits in the cliffs, long-range sensors and comms are unreliable in many parts of the moon
-- Imperial Complicity: While officially illegal, Imperial authorities in nearby systems have turned a blind eye in exchange for favors or bribes
Orbital Body (type)(moons)
1. Alaris (forest/mountain)(5: Alaris Prime)
2. Kashyyyk (forest)(3)
3. Trandosha (jungle/savanna)(1: Wasskah)
World Summary
Wasskah is a remote and dangerous moon where sentient beings are hunted for sport by Trandoshans seeking the favor of their goddess, the Scorekeeper. Covered in thorny bramble forests and jagged cliffs, the moon serves as the backdrop for brutal competitions hosted by Garnac’s Hunting Guild. Survivors of these hunts are few, and even fewer escape without help.
The moon’s notoriety is whispered in the criminal underworld and among outlaw Jedi and Wookiees, many of whom remember it as the place where Chewbacca and Ahsoka Tano once led a daring escape.
System Summary
The Kashyyyk system includes the planets Kashyyyk (Wookiee homeworld), Trandosha (Trandoshan homeworld), and their associated moons—including Wasskah. The system is well-traveled by traders and Imperials alike, making it both strategically valuable and politically volatile.
Adventure Idea: “The Hunted”
A local Rebel cell discovers that one of their missing operatives was sold to Garnac’s hunting guild and transported to Wasskah. The heroes must infiltrate Island Four, survive a night in the bramble-infested jungle, and extract the operative before the hunters can claim their prize.
Complications:
1. A Trandoshan marksman obsessed with collecting Jedi trophies.
2. A Force-sensitive Convor following the PCs.
3. A malfunctioning prey pod that crashes them deep in the jungle. |
