Though the moment was not quite as he envisioned it might be, Revv still felt his emotions welling up inside him as he knelt in front of the Masters with their ignited light sabers.

Revv half closed his eyes and took a deep cleansing breath, calming himself through the force and concentrating on the moment. Clasping his hands behind his back, Revv inclined his head slightly forward and waited.

Garren’s spine straightens and he freezes when he is addressed by Master Aash. He slowly turns around, his mouth dry, he tries to swallow. Had he finally worn out his welcome? As Master Aash finishes, Garren nods, and steps outside to await his time, closing the door behind him to give the masters privacy...

As each of the padawans kneel, each is keenly aware of the hum coming from the four ignited lightsabers held by the three Jedi Masters. As the seconds drag on in silence, the humming blades seems to grow. Master Klekto speaks, his soft voice seems to fill the room with a warm glow, "Every padawan dreams of the day they are knighted. It is a day or great joy, but it is also a day of great sorrow. One should remember that in life, the two are often linked." A long pause stretches, the humming of the Masters' lightsabers begin to dominate the room again until Master Klekto continues to speak, "Every Jedi Knight serves the order in a different way, but every Knight serves the order." Another pause, shorter this time, "But more importantly, the Jedi Order serves the Force. We cast our light in the darkest places, bringing hope where there is none and sheltering those in need of help." Each of the four ignited lightsabers slice through the air, each blade severing the small braid behind the right ear of each of the four padawans, "Rise as Knights of the Jedi Order."

With a gesture, Master Floran opens the doors to the Council Chamber, "Garren Ruen , it would please us if you would return now."

As the Knights rise, and Garren rejoins them, Master Aash speaks, "The Sith Empire has received a killing blow at Russan, but that does not mean they are no longer a threat." He looks thoughtful, as if considering how to procede, "Warlords will rise to fight over what remains. Some of these Warlords are likely to be Sith, or their apprentaces. You will seek out these Warlords, offering peace to those who would join the Republic, and assessing the threat of those who would not."

Turning towards Garren, "Garren Ruen," Master Aash seems to size the man up, "Unlike the students who grew up in the order, you have lived much of your life in the galaxy outside these walls. As such, the Jedi Order wishes to employ you as a pilot and consultant. The Order will provide a ship for the journey." Looking between those gathered, 'Questions?"

Gryphon rises, surprised at the turn of events. Knowing this is happening earlier than it normally would, were the galactic situation not so grim, he bows at the waist. "Thank you for your trust, Masters. We will do our best to show it well-placed.

"As for our assignment...will we be going to Russan? Or will we be following up leads coming to us from Jedi already in the field?"

Revv listens intently to Master Klekto and fastens onto the phrase: "Every Jedi Knight serves the order in a different way, but every Knight serves the order." Revv was determined to serve the order and the Force well, but was equally determined to do so in his own way.

Seconds later Revv feels a surge of exhiliration as his braide is cut clean off. He resists the instinctive urge to reach behind his head to verify that the hair was in fact gone.

Moments later, Revv rises with his fellow Knights and takes a deep calming breath. Several questions do come to mind, though he patiently waits for the Masters to answer Gryphon's query.

"Will we be going to Russan? Or will we be following up leads coming to us from Jedi already in the field?" Gryphon asks.

The three Masters share a long look between them before Master Klekto speaks, "It is your decision as to where you go." He shoots Master Aash an enegmatic look before continuing, "You may contact the Temple at any time if you seek counsel, but the Force will be your guide during this journey."

Master Floran draws the character's attention with a simple hand motion before speaking, "You should all pack what you need for this mission. You will be docking with the Chakk'Ti in orbit for supplies. I will be traveling with you that far." He glances at the other two masters, "Unless there is something of immediate consern, I can answer any further questions in transit."

Stunned, Gryphon bows and says, "Yes, Master. I will meet you shortly at the shuttle."

Once they are dismissed, Gryphon goes to his quarters to pack his meager belongings. Awash with disbelief, excitement, and not a little trepidation, he packs his rucksack quickly and efficiently. Cinching the straps closed, he hefts the ruck and slips it onto his back. Turning in a circle, he takes a long, last look at his chambers...the only home he's ever known. He then squares his shoulders, turns on his heel, and strides out of the room.

Taking the quickest route to the docking bay, Gryphon emerges from the turbolift, walking into the smells of lubricants, exhaust, and metal. He takes a moment to visually scan the bay, searching for Master Floran. Spying the Master standing next to an awaiting shuttle, Gryphon strides purposefully until he is standing at Floran's side. Inclining his head, Gryphon takes up a position next to him, waiting on his compatriots before boarding the shuttle.

As the ceremony ends, Mishi’peshu bows his head even further in respect of the honor just bestowed upon him. He feels a sense of determination to continue the work of extinguishing the blight of darkness from the galaxy. He stands at the masters’ behest, and lingers just inside the door of the room, listening carefully to each and every thing that the masters have to say on their assignment. He then waits quietly for any questions that any of his now fellow knights have to ask. When all is concluded, he bows to Master Aash and each of the other Masters in the council chamber before swiftly, and silently departing.

He quickly makes his way back to his room to pick up his stow bag filled with what little he “owns”: a few changes of clothes, and his other equipment, which is already packed. The masters there taught Mishi to always be prepared, one never knows when the Force may call him to service, and he took that lesson to heart.

On the way to the shipyard, Mishi takes no time to dwindle on any place at the temple.

”A Jedi must not form any attachments…” He thinks to himself as he departs to the landing bay.

His time here has come to an end…

Revv listens carefully to Master Klekto's cryptic answer to Gryphon's question and ponders what it may mean for he and his fellow knights. He decides against asking any further questions and bows respectfully before hurrying off to his room. Once there Revv grabs his pack and heads for the ship.

Zela listens to the Masters words and feels an odd sense of peace. There is no fear or concern. Although she never expected to be knighted so early and in such a manner, Zela is calm. The knowledge that she is not quite ready, that she still has so much to learn, is there at the back of her mind. And as the Master’s finish speaking and one of the Padawan’s speaks up, Zela ponders her odd sense of calm.

In almost a daze she leaves for her quarters once Master Floran dismisses them. She packs her clothes, good luck charms and a small potted plant, she has been nurturing since she arrived at the temple. Double checks that she has everything and leaves. On a sudden impulse, she stops and takes one last look at the Jedi training grounds. A sense that she will never see this place again creeps upon her and she is reminded of the last time she saw her home-world. The feeling is the same, both sad yet natural. She is moving forward and this is as it should be. She says a silent goodbye and heads to the docking bay.

Garren walks in and takes a seat on the arm rest of one of the empty council chairs. He listens to everything being said. After all questions have been asked and answered, and the knights leave, Garren speaks:

“Masters, I know this is unsightly business for the likes of y’all… But, I did have a couple of concerns that need discuss’n before I agree to take on this job for you…”

Master Aash locks gazes with Garren, "And those concerns would be?"

“Well… For starters, and please don’t take this the wrong way. But, ships don’t fly on good intentions, and if this mission is going to have us tracking down imperials, then it won’t be a likely thing that we stop at any planets that are friendly to Jedi. We’re going to need some sort of operating funds to use to keep us moving, and possibly some cargo that we can either sell or trade for safe harbor or information. I know of a few places we could pick up some of it, but it’s expensive…”

Garren pauses for a moment, then finishes:

“I suppose what I’m trying to get at, is that we’ll probably need some sort of expense account and some cash to get this mission started, then there’s my fee for personal expenses…”

Master Aash fights back a smile as he meets Garren's gaze,"Of course, of course." He pauses, making a soft caughng sound deep in his throat before continuing "A five year contract, one thousand credits a month to cover mission related fees, and two hundred and fifty credits a month for your services. We do not expect you to have much oppertunity to haul cargo during your mission."

Garren has time to make some quick calculations, realizing that the allowance for ship related fees are pretty slim, but that it should be enough to scrape by, . . . barely. His own pay however seems insultingly small.

Even as Garren opens his mouth to speak, Master Aash lifts a finger to silence him as he continues, "I understand that th pay may seem inadiquet, however, to help compensate for this, you will receive the title for the 578-R Space Transport you will be flying." Almost as an afterthought he adds, "At the end of your contract, of course."

Garren furrows his brow at the obvious low balling.

“Is the ship new?” He asks, obviously contemplating the Jedi’s offer.
