Wow, this is a blast from the past, and a voice from the past, too. Not sure any folks still remember me. Been a long time.
I've been quite busy recently, and just stumbled across this. Hard to believe I worked on it so long ago.
I want to thank everyone that gave me support and friendly voices when I was doing this. Thank you very much. |

I like all these stats. Now, if we could find a picture to go with each speeder.... _________________ "I still wouldn't have a roll for it - but that's just how I roll." |

Or, you know, just take a IRL vehicle and take the wheels off.
My artwork involves words, not lines and colour, sorry. |

Sorry if bumping up this thread annoys anyone, but I just wanted to thank Ray for all these. They're amazingly helpful to me at the moment. _________________ "The ships hung in the sky in much the same way that bricks don't." |

No annoyance at all; I missed this one somehow when Ray bumped it. I particularly like the classic car style speeders. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. Me too. I was looking for some variety in vehicles, so this was very handy. Luckily I thought to do a Search before just creating a new topic! _________________ "The ships hung in the sky in much the same way that bricks don't." |

Hey Ray? Do you have some stats for a Police Cruiser Landspeeder? I've been looking around and trying to find something appropriate, but I just can't in any of my official stats. Lots of military vehicles, but very few Local Law Enforcement ones.
If anyone has cooked up some stats to one, it'd be appreciated. I'll dig around a little more and see if I can find something. _________________ RR

There are several police cruiser types in the Han Solo/Corporate Sector book. Have you got that one Raven? |

I do, I just didn't see anything that suited my fancy.
So, I took the Xergo Coupe, and turned it into a police model. Seats 5 beyond the driver, and full cover to the people inside, otherwise, identical. _________________ RR

Personally, I'd love to see a vintage Repulsorlift version of the German Army's Sd. Kfz. 251 Half Track.

Hmmmm....
A police cruiser is up my alley; however, I'd have to understand what you didn't like about the published ones...?
If we are wanting a police speeder to mimic the same kind of functionality that a real world police car does (as compared to a civilian car), then I can give you a few pointers for statting up your own, as well as eventually some day maybe writing one up myself.
Generally speaking, police cars have a "handling package" added to them to improve their ability to maneuver at speed. Though they are no faster than regular cars of the same type (Crown Vics, for example). In fact, with all the equipment added to a police car, it will usually be slower than the civilian model, but not by so much that it matters in actual practice.
Their moving parts (suspension, wheels, etc) are a bit beefier, too.
Some, but by no means all, or even most, have ballistic inserts in the doors and/or bulletproof windows. It depends on the budget and needs of the department.
Other than that, be sure to have a secure prisoner transport area (the back seat), as well as a computer harness/rack and a weapons rack for one or two long guns.
So, I'd say that a police cruiser would have all the goodies (lights... or whatever they use in Star Wars, weapons rack, secure prisoner transportation and a computer/data terminal, and a mic/loudspeaker).
Also, choose an appropriate civilian speeder and give it a +2 pips or so bonus to maneuverability, and a +1 to +1D bonus to hull. |

Tactical Combat may see this type of conversion eventually... but no promises for anything soon, necessarily... |
