Another modified stat from the archives. This ship makes a good base for a Rebel starfighter campaign, as the ship is designed to carry a heavy load of starfighters, but isn't equipped to enter combat on its own.

Victory III-Class Star Carrier

The Victory Star Carrier is a modification to the basic Victory Star Destroyer hull, meant to provide fighter support to fleets and invasions at the end of the Clone Wars. Built on the same hull as a Victory II, all of the heavy armament has been removed, with the additional space being converted into enlarged hangars for additional transport. The ship is not intended to enter combat, but rather to operate in support of front-line warships by providing them with TIE and troop support.

Designed to carry a full wing of fighters and a reinforced battalion of ground troops, it was an excellent fleet carrier for its day, but has mainly been retired. The handful that remain in Imperial service provide support for escorts and lower priority missions. As with many older ship types, some of the retired vessels have found their way into service with the Rebel Alliance, where they see more active service due to the Alliance's emphasis on starfighter combat.

A lot of these were stats that I downloaded from various websites or from the SW-RPG list back in the day. Quite a few were off of Wing Commander Luna's Briefing Room, which I recently rediscovered, thanks to the Internet Wayback Machine. I don't think there is a single one of his I've posted in original form; everything has been tweaked to one degree or another...

A star destroyer modified to serve as a carrier for non-hyperspace capable fighters? THAT is a fun idea!

In Imperial service, perhaps. In Alliance service, the fighter wing would be fully hyperspace capable, and thus more versatile. Wink
