Special Abilities
-- Quick Study: once per game session, Jimmy may re‑roll a failed Technical or Mechanical skill check, keeping the better result—representing precocious talent and intense curiosity.
Story Factors
-- Runaway on a Quest: Driven to find his star‑pilot brother, Johnny.
-- Under‑aged: Many adults dismiss or underestimate him; some will not knowingly allow him into dangerous areas.
-- Hidden Asset: Roark Garnet recognizes Jimmy’s raw aptitude and occasionally lets him “shadow‑pilot” under supervision.

Move: 10
Force Sensitive? No
Force Points: 1
Dark Side Points: 0
Character Points: 5

Equipment: Oversized flight goggles (hand‑me‑down from Johnny), child‑sized hold‑out blaster (3D damage), scavenged multitool (counts as basic tool kit), satchel with datapad, snub commlink, and ration packs, worn spacer’s jacket (no armor value, many pockets)

Background
Jimmy Marbels bolted from a dreary frontier settlement, clutching a holo of his brother Johnny—a decorated starfighter pilot he idolizes. Stowing away on cargo haulers, Jimmy finally crossed paths with smuggler Roark Garnet during the war. Impressed by the kid’s nerve and cockpit savvy, Garnet let him co‑pilot for a jump (with safety protocols engaged). Jimmy now tags along, believing every hyperspace route might lead to Johnny—and learning the ropes of life among rogues and Rebels.

Personality
Restless, upbeat, and hopelessly inquisitive. Jimmy masks loneliness with bold talk and is fearless when a console or control yoke is within reach. Quick to trust kind strangers, but quicker to prove himself useful.

Objectives
-- Track down his brother and fly at his side.
-- Master real piloting under Garnet’s tutelage.
-- One day own a nimble starfighter of his own.

Quote
“Set me up with the copilot’s seat—I’m short enough to dodge the blaster bolts!”

Story Factors:
-- 10,000‑credit Imperial Bounty: Hunted by sector authorities; Imperial officers gain +1D to recognize or pursue him.
Hard Reputation: Civilians and low‑level underworld types are easily cowed (+1 pip to Intimidation vs. such targets).

Move: 10
Force Sensitive? No
Force Points: 1
Dark Side Points: 1
Character Points: 7

Equipment: BlasTech EE‑3 carbine (5D), heavy blaster pistol (5D), armored spacer duster (+1 physical/+1 energy torso), wrist datapad with bounty listings remote‑detonation charges (3), slice‑key and security kit, cred‑chip slush fund (≈2,000 cr)

Background
A former guild enforcer, Tantos Dree carved out a bloody niche collecting debts and deserters until an Imperial officer he double‑crossed hung a 10,000‑credit price on his head. Now he survives on slippery deals and raw nerve. Most recently he hitched a ride aboard Roark Garnet’s Dorion Discus—then forced the crew into a firefight when Imperial customs closed in.

Personality

Aggressive, sardonic, and ruthlessly pragmatic. Dree trusts blaster bolts over promises and never passes up leverage on a traveling companion.

Objectives
-- Clear or outlive the Imperial bounty.
-- Land the bounty of a lifetime—enough to vanish.

Special Abilities:
-- Veteran Navigator: Once per session Jackson may re‑roll a failed Astrogation or Tactics check and keep the better result.
Story Factors:
-- Former Imperial Officer: Recognized in naval circles; loyalists may seek favors, while Rebels weigh his past against current deeds.
-- Pompous but Protective: Tends to lecture younger spacers yet will risk his life for them.

Move: 10
Force Sensitive? No
Force Points: 1
Dark Side Points: 0
Character Points: 8

Equipment: Officer‑style blaster pistol (4D), retired‑issue great‑coat (+1 physical/+1 energy vs. torso), handheld navicomputer (adds +1D to Astrogation when used), code‑cylinder datapad with old Imperial charts, flask of Corellian brandy (for “diplomacy”)

Background
Jackson Farseeker served the Imperial Navy with distinction until disillusionment—and a stubborn streak—pushed him into retirement. Estranged from the regime, he roams the spacelanes with his granddaughter Jill, working odd courier jobs for his one‑time son‑in‑law, smuggler Roark Garnet. Despite flashes of pomp, Jackson’s star charts and battle lore have saved the Dorion Discus more than once, most famously plotting the jump that shook off the Customs Frigate Assessor above Thorgeld I.

Personality
Cultured, verbose, and proud of his accomplishments. Quick to bark orders in a crisis, quicker to apologize after. Finds joy in mentoring youth—especially Jill—even as he needles Garnet for “reckless piloting.”

Objectives
-- Safeguard Jill’s future far from Imperial reach.
-- Unlock the secrets of the alien ou’tranoi device he refuses to sell.
-- Prove, to himself if no one else, that honor survives outside Imperial uniform.

Quote
“Plotting a jump isn’t luck, my boy—it’s discipline. Now brace yourself; the stars await our cue.”

Story Factors:
-- Brush With Darkness: When Jimbo calls on anger or fear, he may add +1D to a single Control roll once per encounter, but must check for Dark Side Point gain (GM’s call).
-- Failed Jedi: Cast out for temperament and secrecy; hunted by Imperial Inquisitors and shunned by many Jedi survivors.
-- Drawn to Power: The dark side whispers promises of purpose—he struggles daily to resist.

Move: 10
Force Sensitive? Yes
Force Points: 2
Dark Side Points: 2
Character Points: 5

Equipment: Old single‑bladed lightsaber (5D damage, crimson crystal), spacer cloak with concealed hood, utility belt (medpac, glowrod, 2 days’ rations, repair kit), club (improvised; STR+1D damage), tattered holocron shard (contains one corrupted Control power)

Background
Raised in a remote Jedi enclave shortly before the Purge, Jimbo Kinnison never completed his trials. Surviving on the run, he dabbled in forbidden teachings to stay alive, tasting the rush of dark power during desperate moments. Now adrift in the Galactic Civil War, he crosses paths with smugglers and rebels alike—most recently clashing with Roark Garnet, who met his lightsaber with nothing but a club and raw nerve.

Personality
Brooding, quick‑tempered, yet capable of quiet compassion. Jimbo is torn between yearning for the Jedi ideals and the seductive efficiency of the dark side. Trust comes hard, but loyalty—when earned—runs deep.

Objectives

-- Redeem or destroy the corrupted holocron that fuels his power.
-- Prove to himself he is more than the “failed Jedi” label.

-- Disguised as a Droid: R2-EK is assumed by most to be a standard astromech droid.

Move: 7
Force Sensitive? No
Force Points: 1
Dark Side Points: 0
Character Points: 5

Equipment: Modified hollow R2-series astromech shell (removable), hand-carved wooden flute (used to mimic droid beeps), small spear (collapsible), grappling vine rope, primitive toolkit, pouches for dried food and herbs, crude sensor disruption charm (non-functional, for RP)

Background
When Rebel scouts left behind damaged equipment on Endor, a curious Ewok named Kach'ta found an empty R2 unit. Crawling inside for fun, he accidentally tricked Rebel techs into thinking it was functional. Discovering he could manipulate his flute to simulate droid sounds, he found a calling—an Ewok hiding in plain sight across the galaxy. He's since joined smugglers, slicers, and rebels, always underestimated, and always listening.

Personality
Quiet when not “speaking” as a droid. Mischievous, crafty, and deeply observant. Uses flute tones for “conversation” and enjoys watching others react in confusion or awe.

Objectives
-- Avoid discovery.
-- Learn about technology through observation.
-- Sabotage Imperial machines “from the inside.”
-- Compose a symphony of galactic droid sounds.

Quote
"Breep…twiddle-twee! (Translation: Heh. You locked the door from the inside, didn’t you?)")

Affiliation: Alliance to Restore the Republic

DEXTERITY 1D
KNOWLEDGE 1D
MECHANICAL 2D

Astrogation 5D, space transports 3D, starfighter piloting 3D
PERCEPTION 1D
STRENGTH 1D
TECHNICAL 2D

Computer programming/repair 4D, starfighter repair 5D*
* May attempt repairs while in flight if acting as co-pilot

Equipped With:
Three wheeled legs (center leg retractable)
Retractable heavy grasping arm (lifting at 2D)
Retractable fine work grasper arm
Extendable video sensor (0.3m, 360° rotation)
Small electric arc welder (Damage 1D–5D depending on setting, range 0.3 meters)
Small circular saw (Damage 4D, range 0.3 meters)
Holographic projector/recorder
Video display screen
Fire extinguisher
Small internal cargo compartment (20 cm x 8 cm)
Various general-purpose tools (for mechanical/technical tasks)

Background
R2-D0 was manufactured by Industrial Automaton as a standard R2-series astromech, designed for starfighter navigation, repair, and assistance. Assigned to Agent Tay Vanis (aka "Tiree") of the Alliance to Restore the Republic, R2-D0 served during critical missions involving intelligence gathering and resistance cell organization.

Following the Battle of Yavin, R2-D0 accompanied Vanis to a clandestine meeting on Bothawui. When Imperial forces, led by ISB Agent Mar Barezz, discovered the site, Vanis made a calculated sacrifice—drawing off the Imperials while ordering R2-D0 to lead the new recruits to safety through an abandoned lidium mine.

R2-D0 used its built-in tools, schematics, and knowledge of the terrain to help the recruits evade capture and reach a hangar with hidden BTL Y-wing starfighters. Once aboard, R2-D0 interfaced with the droid socket to upload the coordinates of a hidden Rebel base, ensuring the escape of the recruits and a wounded Vanis.

Personality
Loyal, resourceful, and surprisingly brave for a droid. R2-D0 often “chirps” insistently when ignored and shows strong initiative in dangerous situations. Though it cannot speak Basic, its messages are clearly conveyed through tone, urgency, and holoprojections.

Objectives
-- Assist Rebel agents in covert missions
-- Preserve and deliver critical intel
-- Protect Tay Vanis and any Rebel recruits
-- Maintain functionality of Alliance starfighters under stress

Quote
[Translated from binary:] “This unit will complete the mission—even if it must roll over every stormtrooper between here and hyperspace.”

After losing a close friend in an Imperial customs incident, he aligned with the Alliance to Restore the Republic. Operating from his heavily modified HWK-290, "Broken Wing", he smuggles supplies and personnel for Rebel cells, always staying one step ahead of Imperial patrols and bounty hunters.

Personality
Wry and pragmatic, Roark is a quick thinker with a dry sense of humor. He prefers to avoid unnecessary violence but isn’t afraid to fight if cornered. Loyalty to friends and the cause runs deep beneath his gruff exterior.

Objectives
-- Keep the Broken Wing flying and his crew safe.
-- Undermine Imperial supply lines wherever possible.
-- Eventually, establish a secure smuggling route that can reliably support Rebel operations.[/list]

Quote
“I don’t run missions — I run favors, and the best favor is knowing when to cut your losses.”

Mar Barezz
Type: ISB Investigator
Species: Human
Age: 42
Height: 1.85 meters
Weight: 82 kg
Physical Description: Sharp-eyed and clean-shaven with angular features, Barezz wears the pristine white uniform of an ISB officer, often draped with a fur-collared black cloak. His expression is typically hard and unreadable.

DEXTERITY 3D
Blaster 5D+1, brawling parry 4D+1, dodge 4D+2, melee combat 4D+2
KNOWLEDGE 4D
Bureaucracy: ISB Protocol 6D, interrogation 6D+2, intimidation 6D+1, law enforcement 5D+2, streetwise 5D+1, tactics 5D
MECHANICAL 2D

STRENGTH 2D
Brawling 3D+1, stamina 3D
TECHNICAL 2D
Computer programming/repair 3D, security 4D

Story Factors:
-- Imperial Authority: Though technically a civilian, Barezz can issue orders to Imperial military personnel with impunity due to ISB authority and his direct assignment from Darth Vader.
-- Feared Reputation: Known for suggesting cold and politically motivated decisions—like allowing decorated Imperials to die for propaganda purposes—he is both respected and feared among the ranks.
Obsessed with Tay Vanis: His pursuit of the Rebel agent Vanis has become personal, bordering on obsession.

Move: 10
Force Sensitive? No
Force Points: 2
Dark Side Points: 4
Character Points: 10

Equipment: Imperial Security Bureau uniform (with fur-collared cloak), Blaster pistol (5D), vibrodagger, comlink, code cylinder (for security access), datapad (contains files on suspected traitors, surveillance logs, and ISB protocols), IT-O Interrogation droid (access, not personally carried)

Background
Mar Barezz rose through the ranks of the ISB’s Investigations branch, catching the eye of Darth Vader himself. Unlike most Imperial officers, Barezz is not concerned with battlefield glory—he fights a shadow war, hunting down traitors, defectors, and Rebel sympathizers before they can act. His reports have ruined careers, justified purges, and forced commanders to make devastating decisions for the "greater order."

His greatest failure—so far—is Tay Vanis, a Rebel recruiter and intelligence agent. Despite Barezz's meticulous traps and brutal countermeasures, Vanis continues to escape. This vendetta drives Barezz to deploy ISB agents and Imperial troops alike in pursuit, blurring the lines between civil oversight and military command.

Personality
A cold, calculating bureaucrat with a grim sense of duty and a total lack of empathy. Barezz speaks softly, acts decisively, and views everyone—especially allies—as potential liabilities. He sees Rebels not as misguided, but dangerous infections that must be excised before they spread.

Objectives
-- Capture or kill Tay Vanis
-- Uncover and dismantle Rebel recruitment cells
-- Maintain personal favor with Lord Vader and the COMPNOR elite
-- Preserve and expand the ISB’s influence over the Imperial military

Quote
"For propaganda purposes, dead heroes are nearly as good as live ones. And dead heroes cannot defect to the Rebellion."

Tay "Tiree" Vanis

Species: Human
Age: 38
Height: 1.8 meters
Weight: 78 kg
Physical Description: Worn and lean, with sharp eyes and an unshaven jaw. Vanis wears a patched Rebel uniform, often covered by a civilian overcoat. His face bears the stress of long campaigns behind enemy lines.

TECHNICAL 3D
Computer programming/repair 4D+1, demolitions 4D+2, first aid 4D, security 5D

Story Factors:
-- ISB Target: Vanis is at the top of the Imperial Security Bureau’s most-wanted list due to his long-standing defiance and critical role in Rebel operations.
-- Legendary Status: Revered by Rebel operatives as a hero and martyr; whispered about by Imperials as a ghost of sabotage and propaganda.
Trusted by Droids: Formed lasting bonds with droids like R2-D0 and LE-914, who acted with devotion beyond their programming.
-- Psychological Scars: Tortured, manipulated, and hunted—Vanis suffers quietly from trauma, nightmares, and guilt.
-- Off-the-Books Veteran: Completed over twenty black ops missions; often defies protocol to achieve objectives.

Move: 10
Force Sensitive? No
Force Points: 1
Dark Side Points: 1
Character Points: 15

Equipment: Blaster pistol (4D), vibroblade (hidden), modified datapad with Alliance encryption, civilian-issue comlink, forged ID documents, recording of Death Star II data (on mission), worn overcoat with hidden armorweave lining, Rebel field kit (medpacs, ration packs, slicing tools)

Background
Born in the Iskalon system, Vanis left his family behind to join the Rebellion—believing deeply in the cause of freedom and self-determination. Over the course of two decades, he became one of Alliance Intelligence’s most accomplished agents, operating deep undercover, recruiting sympathizers, and gathering critical intelligence across the galaxy.

His career was marked by legendary cat-and-mouse engagements with Mar Barezz of the ISB, and ultimately, by his fatal run-in with Darth Vader. Tortured into a shell of himself, Vanis nonetheless passed on key intel that ensured the success of the Battle of Endor and the destruction of the second Death Star. His final sacrifice is honored in Rebel circles as one of the most pivotal acts in the war.

Personality
Steadfast, brave, and deeply moral. Vanis projects quiet confidence, tempered by the loss and wear of a life spent in the shadows. He is a survivor—crafty, cunning, and capable of empathy, especially toward those oppressed by the Empire.

Objectives
-- Uplift oppressed peoples and organize resistance cells.
-- Avenge his family’s death by dismantling the Imperial war machine.
-- Ensure the survival and success of his recruits.
-- Deliver truth—no matter the cost.

Quote
"No ... I won't run. Not this time. Not when they still believe in something better."

M-3PO
Type: Cybot Galactica 3PO Human-Cyborg Relations Droid
Model: 3PO-series Protocol Droid
Manufacturer: Cybot Galactica
Height: 1.7 meters
Move: 8
Cost: 3,000 credits (new)
Affiliation: Independent

DEXTERITY 1D
(Not designed for combat or quick movement)
KNOWLEDGE 3D
Cultures 6D
Languages 10D*
*The droid’s vocabulator speech/sound system and TransLang III module allow it to mimic virtually any known sound or language.
MECHANICAL 1D
(Nominal skill only – not suited for piloting or gunnery tasks)
PERCEPTION 1D
(Somewhat oblivious to subtle cues and danger, unless social or cultural in nature)
STRENGTH 1D
(Weak physical frame; low lifting/carrying capacity)
TECHNICAL 1D
(Minimal technical knowledge outside communications systems)

Equipped With:
Humanoid body (two arms, two legs, head)
Two visual and audial sensors (human-range)
Vocabulator speech/sound system (for replicating nearly any sound)
AA-1 VerboBrain
TransLang III Communications Module (fluent in over seven million forms of communication)
Internal chronometer
Basic etiquette and diplomatic protocol programming
Civility subroutine prioritizing non-hostility to sentient beings
Moderate memory capacity for cultural databases
Limited social defense mechanism: denial, stammering, panic

Background
M-3PO was originally owned by a minor merchant and self-styled noble named Jarstein, serving primarily as a translator and social mediator. The droid's exposure to underworld dealings expanded significantly when Jarstein fell into debt and was imprisoned alongside known smuggler Roark Garnet. During an escape attempt, Garnet, restrained and desperate, asked M-3PO to help incapacitate a guard using a feather boa.

Though M-3PO hesitated—explicitly noting that his programming prohibited harming sentient beings—he eventually agreed to the request... but insisted on asking the unconscious guard for permission before proceeding. This act, of course, awakened the guard, undermining the escape attempt and nearly dooming both of them.

Despite such moments of comic ineffectiveness, M-3PO's vast linguistic and cultural expertise makes him an invaluable tool in negotiations, diplomacy, and first contact scenarios.

Personality
Polite to a fault, overly literal, anxious under pressure, and deeply committed to etiquette protocols. Often exasperating to impatient companions but utterly loyal once bonds are formed. Tends to misinterpret slang and sarcasm. Adheres rigidly to programming... unless convinced it is the "ethical exception."

Objectives
-- Protect and serve his assigned owner (or new traveling companions)
-- Avoid physical harm (his own or others’)
-- Expand his cultural database and linguistic library
-- Promote peace and etiquette across the galaxy
-- Avoid ever again being asked to strangle someone

Quote
"Sir, if I may interrupt… I am not technically programmed to garrote sentient beings—would it be appropriate to ask the guard first?"

Blaster repair 3D, first aid 3D+1, security 3D+2

Special Abilities:
-- Mixed Heritage Physiology: Resistant to atmospheric toxins (Aobys trait) — +1D to Survival rolls when resisting environmental effects.
Keen Spatial Perception: Due to Aobys neural adaptations, gains +1 pip on Search or Sensors checks involving movement or position.

Story Factors:
-- Exile from Aobys: As a hybrid born to an Aobys dissident and a human spacer, Jana was cast out by both cultural spheres. She has no homeland and no people, which fuels her cold independence.
-- Hardened by Betrayal: Operating in the fringes of the Outer Rim, she learned never to trust anyone completely—especially bounty brokers.
New Name, New Identity: Her birth name, Samankawin, is known only to a handful of people. She goes by Jana Jarel to the galaxy at large.

Move: 10
Force Sensitive? No
Force Points: 1
Dark Side Points: 1
Character Points: 8

Equipment: custom blaster carbine (folding stock, stun/kill modes), vibroknife (hip sheath), modular armor jacket with built-in holsters, compact field kit (medpac, ration cubes, data spike, handcuffs), comlink with encryption, atmospheric mask with auto-filtration, credits pouch and encrypted datachip with past bounties

Background
Born between worlds and without a people, Jana was the product of a forbidden union. Her early years on Aobys ended in forced exile when her hybrid status became known. Adopting a new name and life among spacers, she learned to fight, fly, and track targets through treacherous systems and cities. After decades of honing her craft, she became a feared bounty hunter—sharp-eyed, silent, and deadly.

She once crossed paths with the smuggler Roark Garnet during a contract gone wrong. Though she wounded him in a brief firefight, Garnet escaped. Jana now keeps his name on a private list—not for the bounty, but for the insult of being denied a clean capture.

Personality
Cynical, guarded, and disciplined. She speaks little but thinks quickly, with a dry wit that only appears when she’s sure no one is listening. She distrusts institutions but respects personal code and loyalty—when it’s earned.

Objectives
-- Maintain her independence and reputation
-- Track down high-value targets for the right cause—or the right price
-- Discover more about her Aobys ancestry and why her parents were exiled
-- Settle the score with Roark Garnet—one way or another

Quote
"Names change. What doesn’t is the trail you leave behind. I just follow it."
