Just a quick question, do you add both of these modifiers to a force power skill check every time?

Example: A user is trying to use telekinesis against Darth Vader. They are in line of sight but not touching so it is +2. Though they have never met, and are only known by Reputation, so they would be +15.

For at total of +17 to the force power skill check.

To me, my gut feeling is that isn't how it works. It would be one or the other, or would it just depend on the force power?

Not all powers get proximity modifiers, and mnot all have both the proximity and relationship mods.

I just realized I posted this in the wrong section so sorry about that!

I was wondering if it would be case by case. As it didn't make sense to me that say Absorb/Dissipate Energy's difficulty against Force lightning would be increased if the character didn't know the person using force lightning on them.

No.

To add on to what garhkal said - some powers already have range modifiers - for short range powers.

The other side of the hanger or in the next room.


Proximity modifiers are for LONG range things - like in orbit or another solar system.

The powers that use proximity, are usually labeled as such.
