Surprisingly, I never played it until last year!! I owned the 1e books when the came out in 87ish, but I was graduating high school and never got to play (my group went in different directions).

Born in 1980 I was born in the thick of it (Star Wars best days). The movies where the most popular thing older people around me watched and spoke on, it was basked into my earliest memories right alongside my 80-90s cartoon spread.
As I got older I go into other TTRPGs in the following order, AD&D, AD&D2nd, Rulescyclopedia/Planescape/DarkSun, Rifts by Palladium, Shadowrun3e, Vampire/WEG/Hero/Werewolf, and since that 12 years span of trying all the things, I have basically always come back to WEG as the best Star Wars TTRPG.
I saw all the Prequels in the Theatres and I camped out for 11 days for The Phantom Menace in terrible weather.
I was a member of the 501st (lapsed on that costume and nothing to reg currently nor many people here in Thailand).
I play all the tabletop skirmish games.
