Hi all. Normally I don't pay much attention to EU things, even though I know we don't call it the "EU" anymore, but anyway.
I'm pretty tempted by this: Shattered Empire
Of course, that's in part because I have thought a lot about this period I called... Shattered Empire.
On the one hand (as I've said before) I dread my setting getting invalidated but I'm hopeful they'll do some good stuff with it. Hopefully not too grim-modern Dark Knight but somewhat more gritty than Ep. IV. _________________ "A special effect without a story is a pretty boring thing"- George Lucas |

As a fan of your Shattered Empire and someone who plans to buy the comic, I thought I'd reply. Didn't you already choose to disregard EU canon (novels and comics) when you originally devised your own post-RotJ setting? Why would you dread a comic book contradicting your setting? It can't actually "invalidate" your own personal SWU unless you choose to let it. _________________ *

Well that's the point, right... 3 Zahn novels and endless EU stuff...who cares. I guess I'm assuming that the comic will be written to complement the film. I've gotten the impression that there will be more continuity in the whole thing now than there was previously. Maybe I'm overestimating how much the SE books will fill in the backstory for Ep VII.
Thanks for the reply BTW, long time no talk. _________________ "A special effect without a story is a pretty boring thing"- George Lucas |

Did you ever get it and read it? I've got the trade paperback compilation of this 4-issue series on order at my comic shop. Next time I can make it over there, I'll pick it up. |
I read it. I wasn't that impressed with it. But, most of the other Marvel Star Wars stuff is pretty doggone good. |
