|
|
Recently I have been wondering what class hyperdrive the resurgent have. There is a scene in TFA that make me question the class hyperdrive.
And that is how fast they got to takodana, they got from starkiller base to takodana in minutes maybe a couple of hours which is pretty fast especially since takodana is more than a third of the galaxy away from starkiller base.
If you wanna look at the map then here.
https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/0/04/Canon_galaxy_map.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20160104135200. Seems like it has a class 1.0 to me, could have a class 1.5, maybe 2.0, but seems most likely 1.0 to me. (Sorry if all my topics are on resurgent class battlecruisers I just love these ships) |

In the films and TV shows ships move as fast or slow as the plot requires. Ship speed tends to be the same plot speed in the novels as well. |

Someone here (Sutehp?) once made the statement that JJ Abrams seems incapable of conceiving of a universe in which you can't see from one side to the other in real time. There are serious continuity issues with travel times, as well as the passage of time in general, in TFA. Just because something appears to happen quickly in TFA doesn't mean it shouldn't be taken with a grain of salt. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. From what we know, the resurgent can travel faster than a tie fo and tie fo have better engines than tie ln and tie ln can travel 1,200 kph. Don’t know the class hyperdrive though |

I went back and watched that scene, and there wasn't even a hint of plaid. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. Wait, what do we know? And how do we know it?
I mean, it's not hard to say that a Resurgent can travel faster than a TIE/fo in hyperspace (since TIE/fo's don't have hyperdrives), but where are you getting the idea that the Resurgent is faster? _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. But doing so doesn’t leave much room for manouverability, if you want proof go to the resurgent class battlecruiser wiki look at the second paragraph and on propultion system. |

I take it back. The Resurgent may actually be capable of attaining Ludicrous Speed after all.

Disney have been lazy and got a pen and a piece of appear and began writing numbers down to find out what stats it should have. Seems funny right? |

At least they fixed the star destroyer line by getting rid of the bridge sticking up. |

By this do you mean Disney Star Wars in general? Or just Disney non-film publication expansions of the films? I was trying to bring humor into this discussion by referring to Spaceballs. The f-word and hate are pretty extreme words on the eve of a new Disney Star Wars film that is a direct sequel to TFA where this ship came from. _________________ *
