I recognze some of the folks here - from my days on swrpg.net ...and other places my poor brain (or browser history) cannot remember.
been playing some form of star wars since ...early mid 90s.
(one of the players - he had to leave our game session of playing Starfall (d6)because his wife went into labor - recently....his daughter just had her first baby...).
Back when we had campaign sites on ...geocities?
(shudder).
Anyway - glad to be back into d6 - and have found the pit in the recent years.

Wow. This has been an interesting read.
I'd have to look at the original ranking system; I was sure I had made Grand Moff. That said, it's cosmetic.
Still, it's been good to reconnect, and see all the old names I used to congregate with on a regular basis. Just wish more of them were around. |

You did. Unless it was posted in a forum post, the old ranking system may not be visible anymore, as I just updated the old rank page. But as I recall, it was the same up to 1,000 posts, but then after that you achieved a new rank at 500-post increments. A single user having 5000 posts probably seemed pretty far off when the ranking system was first created, but many years and thousands of posts later, there were a lot more high-post-count members, so I updated it so that Grand Moff is 9,000 posts, and 10,000 posts is where you gain a custom rank. I'm sorry you were demoted, but yeah, rank doesn't mean much anyway.
On the bright side, you only need 543 more posts to regain Grand Moff.

Amen. We did get a handful of people that returned for the Rancor Pit 20th Anniversary Celebration.

*chuckles* No worries, old friend. That wasn't a complaint on my part. Perhaps I'll get back there, or even a custom rank.
It was good to read through the 20th Celebration thread. I'm really glad Loc made it!
