How did you get into Star Wars?

Here is a brief bit about the Seattle UA Cinema 150 that is now sadly no longer with us.

Wow. My hometown's downtown theater that I saw the original film in (The Strand) opened in 1916 and is still in operation to this day. In the 70s it was only one screen, and there was only one other movie screen in the area, a drive-in a little outside of town. In the 80s the Strand bought the business beside it and added a second screen. That auditorium is long and skinny so we called it "the shoebox". That is where we saw RotJ. They later closed off the original auditorium's balcony and made that into a third screen. In the late 80s a new shopping center opened off the highway, and they had a competing 5-screen theater which I saw many movies at in my high school school years (when not playing Star Wars 1e). The drive-in permanently closed in 2001 (had some fun times there), and sometime after that, the 5-screen shopping center theater closed too. The Strand and its 3 screens are back to being the only movie theater in town. It was bought by the local university and is now run as a non-profit. My brother and family went to it to see TFA there for its 100th anniversary and old time's sake.

Hi everyone!

I want to share how I got into Star Wars too:

When I was a kid (I almost cannot remember, because I was 3 or 4 years old), my father owned a video store. When he picked me up after school, he usually took me to the video store until he finished working. There, he chose everyday a different VHS that played in a little tv. Most of them were cartoons: The Fintstones and stuff like that...
One day... BOOM! "Star Wars". I remember that it was "A New Hope" and that I loved R2-D2.

Sadly, my father had to sell the video store when we moved when I was 5 years old. He kept a ton of VHS, but the Star Wars films were lost; and in Spain, those days, it was really, really difficult to find a Star Wars movie in VHS in any store.
Then, Special Edition was released. I was 7 years old, and my father took me to the cinema to watch the OT.
That was real magic.

It's very interesting how a film of space wizards can change lives. I will always love Star Wars for this reason.

This is fun to see. I think my first experience was the VHS releases of the original trilogies. Then I got deeper into the SW universe when we used to play the Star Wars card game that came out in the mid to late nineties. There were groups of kids playing Magic at the time in the lunch room, and we did a bit of that, but we always enjoyed the SW one more.
