				| I'm wracking my brain and tearing through my galaxy guides and sourcebooks but can't find the RAW on jury rigging ships and equipment for short-term risky bonuses. Can anyone throw me a bone as to those rules' location? |

Jury rigging rules are not in a galaxy guide.. They are in Craken's Field guide. Pages 2 and 3. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

				| Craken's says jury rigging requires a "technology" roll. Do you think they mean "technical"? It seems using the relevant repair skill is the most sensible mechanic. |

Galaxy Guide 6 has a few items I would consider risky, such as:

Passenger Conversion: "...A cheaper way to go is to put in a primative life support system and have the passengers sleep on the floor. This costs 30 credits per person and weighs only one ton per person." (pg36)

Automatic Cargo Jettisoning: A devious GM could rule a bad hit in combat on the Wild Die could see all of your cargo blasted out into space.

Smuggling Compartments: PCs chopping out their own compartments could potentially damage the hull rating by making a bad roll during creation. _________________ Currently playing D&D 5E and painting an unholy amount of miniatures. |

Technology was a 1st ED skill, they ditched it in 2nd ED. And yeah, just use whatever Repair skill is appropriate for the Jury Rigging instead.

I made jury-rigging it's own skill. _________________ "EXECUTE ORDER 67. Wait a minute, that doesn't sound like order 67..... No, wait. Yes, yes it does. EXECUTE ORDER 68" Palpatine's last moments - robot chicken. |

I have always seen jury rigging use the respective repair skill. The only diff between jury rigging and full on modifications, are the latter are rolled OUTSIDE of combat/the module/adventure session and cost a boat load of cash, with ever increasing difficulties. Jury rigging is in game with a cost/diff of how far you are jury rigging it. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

The 2e jury-rigging rules are located in Fantastic Technology, p. 3-5. _________________ *

				| Many thanks... That's the info I needed. I used to use jury rigging rules to counter effects of damage during combat rather than modified house rules for in-combat rushed repairs. I'm gonna give that another try in my next session, but may also work up a jury-rigged repairs system with slightly different mishaps. |

I'd be interested in hearing how it goes in your next session, and what you come up for the jury rig mishaps. _________________ *
