Was just thinking the other day about how dragons in Middle Earth essentially have a constantly operating Affect Mind ability connected to their speech. It's mentioned briefly when Bilbo meets Smaug, but it's much more prominent in the Silmarillion with Glaurung. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. IIRC, the explanation was that the name was an expression of how Fett viewed the ship. Unlike other ships that get anthropomorphized by their owners (Han: "You hear me, baby? Hold together."), Fett considered the ship literally just a thing, a tool used to complete a task, and something that could be discarded if needs be. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. More importantly, the existence of a 'Slave I' implies there is a 'Slave II' somewhere in a GFFA.
I mean, Han doesn't call it the Millennium Falcon I.... _________________ "The internet is a pathway to many abilities, some considered to be unnatural." - Sheev Zuckerberg |

Slave II from the Dark Empire comics.

I agree, but it still has that silly name in canon. The "change" is only being made for toy packaging.

I presume this Fett was Jango, because he named the ship. Or is this from pre-prequel lore?

In Legends there was also a Slave III and Slave IV! At the bottom of the Wookieepedia pages for all four Legends "Slave" named ships, there is a timeline sequence chart categorized as "Boba Fett's starship." Maybe that's where Lego got the idea to name the Lego set. _________________ *

I'm unsure of the timing, but it fits either way, especially if "don't get attached to objects" was a lesson Jango passed on to Boba. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. Well he DID go on a galaxy-wide scavenger hunt to replace a suit of armor! |
