So how does everyone feel about AI, specifically being used to create content for the game that may be shared here at the Rancor Pit?
I admit I am not that experienced with it. This year I've tried the free web version of ChatGPT a few times to ask it some really esoteric WEG Star Wars questions, some of which it answered incorrectly, but I was able to point out the errors and it acknowledged them. I've also used Google's AI to look up some alien fluff facts; one time I asked it to organize the info a chart which I saved.
I've never shared any of the AI-generated text here, but I have noticed that AI sometimes uses the Rancor Pit as a source for various Star Wars info. Probably a lot of the web spiders here are being sent by AI to scan the Pit. I've blocked some of them but they are just everywhere, like the thousands of microscopic arachnids that live on each of our faces. _________________ *

There are certainly pitfalls in using AI generated content. My view, its a tool, if people want to use it in creating content, even if wrong or mechanically incorrect, there is typically something to salvage. I understand a lot of the mad hate for AI, but its here and we need to accept that. My suggestion is to allow it. As an aside, sometimes, AI gets a good idea, YMMV. _________________ Don Diestler
