This is the new thread dedicated to the Tales of the Jedi canon series on Disney+. Spoilers are allowed here at any time. Outside of this thread, please see the Rancor Pit Spoiler Policy.

Since all six episodes will drop simultaneously (sources say October 26th at 3:00am Eastern), spoiler restrictions for all six episodes will be released on November 9th. Before that date, please only post in this thread if you have seen the episode(s) you are posting about.

Thank you.

EDIT:

I liked it overall. The first one with Dooku was good as it started to show him flirting with the Dark Side. I was hoping they would have a few more like that before they went closer to the Prequels.

What they did with Dooku maybe they can do with Pong Krell and Barriss Offee.

Would really like to see them expand this to all eras.

I'd still like to see a general anthology series that covers all eras and non-major characters, but I doubt it'd be something they'd be interested in doing.

I just found this on YouTube: Tales of the Empire

FREAKING SWEET!!!

They were hinting at a second season of Tales of the Jedi. This might be it. They're doing a parallel between this and Visions. The first season for both focused primarily on the Jedi. The second season of Visions focused on the dark side. Looks like they're doing the same thing here.

I know it said in the thread that spoilers are allowed here, but I'm not going to take a chance. However...

Wait. Wait. Was that...? Does that mean...?

Tales of the Empire

I totally spaced on this miniseries even coming out last year, so I never created a dedicated spoiler thread for this. I could only find one post about it in the forums, Forceally's above post with a trailer in anticipation of it. Even though we are far beyond spoiler policy considerations, I just added this show to this thread.

My son and I finished watching it. It felt utterly pointless. And the character arc of Barriss Offee makes no effin' sense whatsoever. She was a Jedi who turned to the Dark Side and saw the Republic as the villains in the Clone War, aligning herself with the Separatist movement. Then after serving time in prison she joins the Empire and is trained as an Inquisitor. On a mission she sees her fellow Inquisitor act evil and just suddenly decides to be good. Then she seems to sacrifice her life to save the soul of the Inquisitor who killed her.

Forceally, did you or anyone here end up seeing this? What did you think? Please share, especially if you liked this more than I did.

I only saw clips of this on YouTube. Morgan Elsbeth's arc helped establish some background for her. It definitely helped with establishing how she and Thrawn came to meet.

As for Barriss' arc, we got to see what happened to her after she was taken away to prison. She thought she found something worth devoting herself to. Something better than the Jedi at the end. Only to find out it was definitely not what she wanted. But the ending... It was definitely open-ended since we really don't know if Barriss survived. At the same time, in the final episode of her arc, she seemed to have gained a sense of serenity about herself. As if she had come to accept everything that happened and made peace with herself. She came off kind of like Obi-Wan did when Ezra met him. Both seemed to have a presence and wisdom that neither of them had while part of the Jedi Order.
